The 2020 Utah Valley University softball team opens the season with four games in Mexico, at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge. The Wolverines and new head coach
Stacy May-Johnson will open with two games on Thursday, against George Washington on Thursday at 3 p.m. CT and Oregon at 8:30 p.m. CT.
UVU will also face Nevada on Friday at 3 p.m. CT before wrapping up the weekend against Long Beach State on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT. All games can be seen live on FloSoftball.com.
The Puerto Vallarta Challege is a 13-team, two session event with Utah Valley competing in session one with six other programs with BYU and Oklahoma rounding out the rest of the field on Opening Weekend. The games will be played at Nancy Almaraz Stadium.

Devyn Cretz, who started 28 games in the circle and finished with 19 complete games. Also returning is first-team All-WAC selection, sophomore
Abby Doughty and second-team pick, senior
Lyndsay Steverson. Both Doughty and Steverson were named to the Preseason All-WAC Team last week.
Seniors

Kaycie Jensen join Cretz and Steverson as the four seniors on this season's team.
The Wolverines were 15-31 a season ago and welcome 13 newcomers to the squad. Among the newcomers is junior
Jade Miller, who was an NJCAA first-team All-American after hitting .473 wiith 18 home runs last season at Grayson College.Â
