On this day in UVU history, the UVU women's soccer team hosted a spring match against the Argentina women's soccer national team at Clyde Field in 2019. The match was the first-ever match against a women's national team at Clyde Field in the history of the women's soccer program. The Wolverines were highly competitive in the match, playing to a 1-1 tie into the 74th minute. Argentina then scored two late goals to take the 3-1 win.

Argentina was preparing for the FIFA Women's World Cup that took place last summer in France. Argentina competed in Group D at the World Cup, which included England, Scotland, and Japan. Argentina was one of three Latin American teams that competed in the 2019 World Cup. The others included Brazil and Chile. Argentina went 0-1-2 at the Cup, tying Japan and Scotland while falling just 1-0 to England.

"This was a monumental match for our program," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "It was an honor to have the opportunity to host a national team at Clyde Field. It's even cooler being that this match was in preparation for the 2019 World Cup in France."
