UTAH VALLEY HEADS SOUTH TO TAKE ON DIXIE STATE IN OLD HAMMER RIVALRY GAME
Utah Valley travels south down I-15 to take on in-state foe Dixie State in the Old Hammer Rivalry on Saturday afternoon at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Utah Valley enters Saturday's match against DSU with a 7-5-2 overall record and a 2-1-2 mark in WAC play. The Wolverines went 0-1-1 last week on their first WAC road trip of the season, falling 1-0 at California Baptist before playing league rival Seattle U to a 1-1 draw in double overtime. Grace Beeston scored the lone goal for UVU last week, firing a shot into the back of the net to help UVU to the draw at Seattle.

Heather Stainbrook and Sadie Brockbank lead the Wolverines in scoring with six goals apiece. Brockbank leads the team in points (17), shots (52), and shots on goal (23). Nicole Ray has four goals, followed by Beeston with two, and Amber Tripp, Breanna Eves, Jenna Shepherd, London Miller, and Carter who each have one goal. In all, nine Wolverines have scored a goal this season. Brockbank and Carter are tied for the team lead in assists with six apiece.

The UVU defense has recorded six shutout wins. The defense has allowed 18 goals through its 14 games. Brooklyn Nielsen has led the Wolverines in the box with 33 saves and holds a .647 save percentage. She has a 1.24 goals allowed average in 1305 minutes in goal.

ABOUT DIXIE STATE
Dixie State enters Saturday's match against the Wolverines with a 4-10-1 overall record and a 0-4-1 record in WAC play. The Trailblazers are in their second season in the WAC after making the jump from Division II. Dixie State hasn't won a match since taking a 2-1 win at Southern Utah on Sept. 16. Since then, the team holds a 0-5-1 record. The Trailblazers are looking for their first WAC win of the season this week. The team went 0-1-1 on the road last week with a 0-0 double overtime draw against Seattle U and a 2-1 setback to California Baptist. Whitley Griffiths scored the lone goal for DSU last week, finding the back of the net in the 48th minute against CBU. Griffiths leads the team in goals with four this season. She also has one assist and is tied with Jill Bennett with nine points. Kayla Gonzales leads the team in the box with 101 saves and 30 goals allowed. She has two shutouts this year.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY VS. DIXIE STATE
Utah Valley and Dixie State meet up on the pitch for the eighth time on Saturday. UVU holds and all-time 4-2-1 advantage in the series. The two teams meet up in St. George for the fourth time in the last 15 years. The Wolverines swept last season's two-match series against the Trailblazers, picking up a 3-2 win in St. George and a 3-0 shutout win in Orem. Utah Valley defeated the Trailblazers earlier this season in Orem, 3-2. Dixie State holds a 2-1-0 series lead in games played in St. George.

LAST TIME VS. DIXIE STATE
Utah Valley overcame an early deficit to come back and defeat in-state foe Dixie State 3-2 in the Old Hammer Rivalry on Oct. 2 at Clyde Field.

Dixie State took an early 1-0 lead in the seventh minute after McKinley Barney sent a corner kick into the box from the left side. Jill Bennett then fired a shot with her left foot into the back of the net to give the Trailblazers a 1-0 lead.
 
The Wolverines scored the equalizer in the 13th minute after Sadie Brockbank took the ball towards the end line on the right side and sent a cross into the box. Julianna Carter got a foot on the ball and sent it over the goal line near the far post for the score to tie the game 1-1. The goal is the first of the season for Carter and the 13th of her career.
 
Utah Valley took the lead in the 54th minute after a ball got sent into the box to Carter. Carter settled the ball and passed it over to Stainbrook in the middle of the box. Stainbrook fired the ball out of the reach of the DSU keeper to give the Wolverines a 2-1 lead.
 
UVU's Nicole Olanda sent a ball to Breanna DeWaal on the left side of the field in the 66th minute. DeWaal then dribbled the ball down the left side of the field and sent a cross with her left foot into the middle of the box. Brockbank then sent the ball with her right foot past the keeper and into the net to extend UVU's lead to a 3-1 advantage.
 
Dixie State's Brynlee Roberts headed in a ball in the 84th minute to cut the UVU lead to a 3-2 advantage.
 
Utah Valley outshot Dixie State 20-4 on the night, including a 10-2 advantage on frame. Brockbank led UVU with a match-high seven shots, including three on goal. Stainbrook had four shots, all of which were on frame.
