UTAH VALLEY CLOSES OUT HOME SLATE WITH SEATTLE U, CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
Utah Valley will wrap up its home schedule this week as the team hosts WAC rival Seattle U on Thursday night and California Baptist on Saturday. Kickoff for Thursday's match is scheduled for 6 p.m., while Saturday's Senior Day game will begin at 1 p.m.

The Wolverines went 1-0 last week as the team picked up a 4-0 shutout on the road over in-state foe Dixie State. Heather Stainbrook, Julianna Carter, Amber Tripp, and Sadie Brockbank each found the back of the net in the win. The UVU defense picked up its seventh shutout of the season and limited the Trailblazers to just five shots on the day. Brooklyn Nielsen picked up the shutout victory in the box.

Heather Stainbrook and Sadie Brockbank lead the Wolverines in scoring with seven goals apiece. Brockbank leads the team in points (21), shots (57), and shots on goal (26). Nicole Ray has four goals, followed by Grace Beeston, Tripp, and Carter with two each. Breanna Eves, Jenna Shepherd, and London Miller each have one goal. In all, nine Wolverines have scored a goal this season with six of those players scoring two or more goals. Brockbank and Carter are tied for the team lead in assists with seven apiece.

The UVU defense has recorded six shutout wins and a WAC-best seven overall shutouts. The defense has allowed 18 goals through its 15 games. Brooklyn Nielsen has led the Wolverines in the box with 34 saves and holds a .654 save percentage. She has a 1.17 goals allowed average.

Both of UVU's matches at home this week will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Brandon Crow will be back on the call with former Wolverine Melanie Perkins handling the commentary duties.
 
ABOUT SEATTLE U
Seattle U heads into the week with a 7-6-3 overall record and a 1-4-2 WAC record. The team picked up its first WAC win of the season last week in a 2-0 shutout over New Mexico State at home. Senior midfielder Bailey Hall and junior defender Michele Adam scored the goals in the Redhawks' win over the Aggies. SU also dropped a 2-1 decision to league leader Grand Canyon last week. senior forward Sydney Carr scored the team's lone goal in the loss to CBU. Carr and graduate forward Leahi Manthei lead the team in scoring with four goals apiece. Junior keeper Jessica Berlin leads the team in the box with 58 saves and a .817 save percentage. She has three shutouts on the year.

SERIES HISTORY VS. SEATTLE U
Utah Valley and Seattle U will meet on the pitch for the 25th time on Friday. SU holds an all-time 16-4-4 series advantage over the Wolverines. Utah Valley has a four-match unbeaten streak against the Redhawks, including a 1-1 tie against SU in the teams' first meeting of the season in Seattle. The 1-1 double overtime draw at Seattle on Oct. 10 marked the first time that UVU had ever left the Emerald City without a loss. Four of the last six meetings between the two teams have gone into overtime.

California Baptist enters this week's matches with a 6-6-2 overall record and a 4-2-1 WAC mark. After opening WAC play with a 1-2-0 record, CBU has rattled of a four-match unbeaten streak with three wins and a tie. The Lancers went 1-0-1 last week at home with a 1-0 overtime win against New Mexico State, and a 1-1 double overtime tie against league leader Grand Canyon. Freshman forward Morgan Witz scored the game winner in the win over NM State in the 99th minute. Freshman Deniah Wells scored the goal for CBU in its 1-1 draw against GCU. Freshman midfielder/forward Malia Cerdon leads the team in scoring with three goals. Eight other players have one goal each for the Lancers this season. Graduate keeper Romy Salvador leads the team in goal with 39 saves and a .765 save percentage. She has allowed 12 goals and has five shutouts this year.

SERIES HISTORY VS. CBU
Utah Valley and California Baptist meet up on the pitch for the seventh time on Saturday afternoon. CBU holds the edge in the series at 3-2-1. Utah Valley and CBU will play in Orem for the fifth time in the series with UVU holding a 2-1-1 advantage in those games. CBU has a three-match unbeaten streak against the Wolverines with UVU's last win in the series coming back on Oct. 12, 2019. CBU defeated UVU 1-0 in the first game between the two teams this year in Norco, Calif., on Oct. 8.
