Utah Valley drops 2-0 decision at Houston Baptist

HOUSTON—The Utah Valley men's soccer team gave up a pair of second half goals to drop a 2-0 decision on the road to Houston Baptist on Sunday afternoon at Sorrels Field in Houston, Texas.

With the loss, Utah Valley falls to 7-4-2 overall and 4-3-0 in WAC play. Houston Baptist ups its record to 3-12-0 overall and 1-7-0 in league play.

HBU got on the scoreboard in the 48th minute after CJ Smith sent it down the right side to a sprinting Kaone Kolagone who then dribbled the ball toward the UVU goal. He then punched the ball forward into the back of the net to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.

The Huskies extended their lead in the 62nd minute as Smith sprinted down the right side again and then into the box where he crossed the ball to the left side. Bryant Farkarlun got a foot on the ball to get it cross the goal line for the goal to extend HBU's lead to a 2-0 advantage.

Utah Valley outshot the Huskies 14-10, including a 6-4 advantage on frame. The Wolverines also had 10 corner kicks to HBU's one. Diego Castillo led UVU with four shots, including two on goal.
