RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Utah Valley used a balanced attack to sweep WAC foe, California Baptist, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-20) on the road to pick up the Wolverines third straight conference win. With the win, UVU improve to 8-8 on the season, including 3-2 in WAC play. The Lancers fall to 7-8 on the year and 2-3 in conference play.

CBU got out to a quick start in the opening set, taking an early 5-1 advantage. The Wolverines used a 4-1 run to cut into the deficit before a pair of
Kazna Tanuvasa aces sparked a 5-0 run, putting UVU up 10-8. After both teams went back and forth, Tanuvasa led an 8-2 run to give Utah Valley control of the set, 22-14. The Wolverines would coast to a win in the set, taking the first set, 25-18, to go up 1-0.

Kristen Bell got UVU off to a good start in the second as the Wolverines opened up an early 11-6 lead. After the Lancers cut the lead down to 17-16,
Jules Fink led a 4-1 run to extend the lead back out to 20-17. CBU made a final push but Tanuvasa led Utah Valley on a 5-1 run to end the set, 25-20, giving UVU a 2-0 lead.

Bell came out firing in the third set, leading the Wolverines to a 6-1 start. California Baptist ripped off a 7-3 run to trim the lead down to 9-8, but Utah Valley scored three-straight to push the lead out to 12-8. After both teams alternated mini runs, put the match away with a 6-1 run to go up, 21-14. The Wolverines were unchallenged from there as
Kendra Nock hit home the final kill, finishing off the set, 25-20, to complete the sweep.

Tanuvasa led the Wolverines with 12 kills to go along with six digs and three aces. Bell added 10 kills and eight digs while Nock chipped in nine kills.
Sadie Hamson led UVU with five blocks and
Bryton Bishop led with nine digs to go along with four assists.
Natalie Palmer finished with a team-high 18 assists to go along with six digs and
Abbie Miller chipped in 13 assists and five digs. Â
The Wolverines caps off its road trip as UVU heads to Dixie State to take on the Trailblazers on Thursday, Oct. 14. The match is set for 7:00 p.m. MT. UVU returns home for a second matchup with DSU in Lockhart Arena on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 1:00 p.m. MT. Â
