UTAH VALLEY OPENS WAC PLAY ON THURSDAY AT GRAND CANYON
After wrapping up preseason non-league play with a 1-1-1 record, Utah Valley travels to the Valley of the Sun for a pair of matches at Grand Canyon on Thursday and Saturday at GCU Stadium. Kickoff on Thursday is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's match will begin at 1 p.m. Both matches will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network (WACdigitalNetwork.com).

The Wolverines head into this week's matches at GCU fresh off a 0-0 double overtime tie at UTEP on Feb. 13 in El Paso, Texas. UVU outshot UTEP 21-3 and dominated the offensive possession of the match. The Wolverines also had an 11-2 advantage on shots on goal and had six corner kicks to UTEP's two. Amber Tripp recorded a match-high five shots, including three on goal. Isabel Jones-Dawe picked up her first shutout of the season in the box while picking up a save in 110 minutes of action.

Through three matches this season, Brockbank leads the Wolverines in scoring with two goals. She also leads the team with nine shots, including a team-best eight on frame. Heather Stainbrook, Sydney Bushman, and Anna Pickering also have a goal this season. Stainbrook has seven shots to go along with a team-high two assists.  Isabel Jones-Dawe leads the team in the box with a 1-1-1 record. She has recorded five saves and owns a .714 save percentage.

As a team, Utah Valley has scored five goals while limiting opponents to just two. UVU has 45 shots with 27 on frame this season.

ABOUT GRAND CANYON
Grand Canyon is 0-4-0 on the season with losses to Arizona, Northern Arizona, and Arizona State (twice). The team most recently dropped a 4-0 decision at Arizona State on Feb. 14. The 'Lopes only managed six shots with none on goal in the setback at ASU. GCU has three goals this season while allowing 13. The team has 34 shots with 15 on frame. Jaycee Iranshad has two of the team's three goals this season. Camryn Larson has the other. Grand Canyon is coached by Chris Cissell who is in his first season with the team. Cissell is familiar with the Wolverines as he was previously the head coach of Kansas City, where he spent nine season, including numerous seasons in the WAC with the team.

SERIES HISTORY VS. GRAND CANYON
Utah Valley and Grand Canyon meet on the pitch for the 14th time on Thursday night.  UVU holds an all-time 9-3-1 advantage over the 'Lopes. Utah Valley has won two straight over the Lopes, including a 1-0 shutout win in Orem last season. Utah Valley owns a 3-2-1 advantage in games played in Phoenix.
