LAS VEGAS – The UVU men's and women's track and field team returned to Las Vegas for the UNLV Spring Opener. The Wolverines had 11 top-three finishes, including four athletes taking first in their respective events.

Aaron Johnson led the men's team, taking first in the long jump with a jump of 7.53m which place him second all-time in UVU history. In the pole vault,
Isaac Manning took first, clearing a height of 5.00m and
Neal Berkey came in second with a height of 4.35m.
Daniel Bausch won the men's 1500m with a time 4:00.43 and
Cole Havins finished in third with a time of 4:04.04. In the 400m hurdles,
Zane Farrer took first, finishing with a time of 55.45 and
Tyus Kuykendall finished in third at 57.40.

Farrer also took second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.80 and
Josh Rudder took third at 14.97.
Jeffrey Duvinston cleared 1.95m in the high jump to finish in second place.
Jordan Daw claimed third in the 200m with a time of 21.39 and
Luke Nicolds finished in third in the 800m with a time of 2:01.73. The men's 4x100 team finished in second with a time of 47.27 as the 4x400 team took third, clocking in at 3:23.64.

On the women's side, Savanna Routsong led the Wolverines with top three finishes in both the hammer and the shot put. Routsong set personal records in both events, finishing with a distance of 53.03 in the hammer and a throw of 13.71 in the shot put. Both distances are also the third-best in UVU history.
Maezzi Mund moved into sixth all-time in school history in the shot put with a distance of 12.85.
Sydney Dennis climbed to second in the record books in the triple jump, finishing with a jump of 11.21m.

The Wolverines continue its outdoor season, returning to UNLV for the UNLV Spring Invitational on Thursday through Saturday, March 18-20, in Las Vegas. UVU then travels to Arizona for the Arizona Jim Click Shootout in Tucson, Ariz. on Thursday through Saturday, April 8-10.
