SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The UVU men's and women's track and field team traveled to instate rivals Utah and Utah State for the Utah Spring Classic and Utah State Aggie Invitational.
Maria Blad headlined several athletes moving up in the record books as she beat her own record which she set in her previous meet.

"The meet at the University of Utah went really well with some good competition," said Utah Valley head track and field coach
Scott Houle. "It was a tune up and return to action meet with some kids coming back from injuries and preparing us for our next meets.
Maria Blad breaking her own record for the second meet in a row is incredible and we had several athletes breaking into the top 10 in their events and several PRs which gets us excited for our upcoming meets."

On the women's team, Blad broke her own school record, set in her last meet, in the 100H with a time of 13.87. Blad also climbed into seventh all-time in UVU history in the 400H, clocking in at 1:03.03.
Hannah Branch, usually a long-distance runner, showed her abilities in the shorter 1500m, finishing with a time of 4:32.98, good enough for eight in school history.
Larissa Dabb climbed into eight in the school record books in the 400m with a time of 56.36 and
Secret McEuen broke into the top 10 in the 100m with a time of 12.09. Â

On the men's side,
Caleb Furnell broke into the record books in two races, climing to fifth all-time in both the 100m (10.53) and 200m (21.26).
Andre Jones won the 400H, clocking in with a time of 51.32.
Zane Farrer climbed into sixth in 400H, coming in second behind Jones with a time of 53.33.
Tyson Green moved into fourth in the record books in the 5000m, finishing with a time of 14:18.63 and
Britain Reynolds climbed to eighth in the 5000m, clocking in at 14:34.63. Â

In the jumps,
Neal Berkey moved into ninth in the long jump with a distance of 6.93m.
Jacob Deming broke into the top ten in the long jump with a jump of 6.72m. In the triple jump,
Dylan Clements climbed to tenth in school history with his distance of 13.00m. Â

The Wolverines hit the road as Utah Valley will participate in the Bengal Invitational. The Bengal Invitational will be hosted by Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho, at Davis Field, on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17. It is anticipated that more meets may be added to the indoor portion of the schedule and will be updated on GoUVU.com.
