POCATELLO, Idaho – The UVU men's and women's track and field team traveled to Idaho State for the Bengal Invitational.
Aaron Johnson won a pair of events and
Maria Blad won the 100H as the Wolverines had 12 top-three finishes.

"It was a good meet with schools from all over and with some good competition and lots of records breaking", said Utah Valley head track and field coach
Scott Houle. "It was at a brand-new facility and it was great to be a part of breaking in the new facility. Maria is just getting better and better and we had a several other PRs. We're moving in the right direction and getting to a good place in preparation for the WAC championships."

On the women's team, Blad broke her own school record in the 100H for the third straight meet set in her last meet, clocking in with a time of 13.73.
Maddy Beyeler climbed to seventh in the discuss with a throw of 42.97m.
Secret McEuen finished third in the 100m with a time of 12.13 and Savanna Reilly-Routsong took third as well with a throw of 53.20m. The women's 4x400m relay also took second, finishing with a time of 3:50.16.

On the men's side, Johnson took first in the 100m with a time of 10.50, good enough for fifth in in school history. In the prelims of the 100m,
Caleb Furnell clocked a time of 10.41, moving him into third in the UVU record books. Johnson also won the long jump with a jump of 7.52m.
Andre Jones and
Zane Farrer took second and third in the 110H, finishing with times of 14.35 and 14.52, respectively.
Ian Jackson finished third in the 400m with a time of 49.22 and
Dylan Clements took third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.98m.
Kyle Routsong moved into fifth in UVU history in the discuss with a throw of 48.18m and the men's 4x400m relay finished second with a time of 3:15.90.

The Wolverines return to the Beehive State as Utah Valley will participate in the BYU Robison Invitational. The meet will be hosted by BYU in Provo, Utah, at Clarence F. Robison Track and Field Complex, on Wednesday through Saturday, April 21-24. It is anticipated that more meets may be added to the indoor portion of the schedule and will be updated on GoUVU.com.
