GREENVILLE, N.C.—Utah Valley wrapped up its record-setting 2020-21 season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 3-1 setback to sixth overall seed Arkansas on Saturday afternoon at Johnson Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina.

Utah Valley finishes its season with a WAC regular season championship, a WAC Tournament title, and a NCAA Tournament First Round victory, becoming the first team in Utah Valley Athletics history to do so.

The match went back-and-forth in the first half as both teams traded shots. Isabel Jones-Dawe kept the Razorbacks out of the goal in the 36th minute, making an impressive one-one-one save with her left foot.

Arkansas' Anna Podojil lofted a ball into the box that landed right in front of the goal line where Parker Goins punched it into the net to give the Razorbacks a 1-0 lead in the 41st minute.

Goins scored again early in the second half from the middle of the box in the 48th minute to give Arkansas a 2-0 advantage. The Razorbacks then got another goal in the 50th minute to secure the 3-0 lead.

Jones-Dawe made another impressive save in the 63rd minute, followed up by another in the same minute for her second and third saves of the match.

Utah Valley cut into the Arkansas lead in the 73rd minute as Amber Tripp led Sadie Brockbank inside the right side of the box. Brockbank fired the shot past the Razorback keeper and into the back of the net to cut the Arkansas lead to just a 3-1 advantage.

Arkansas just edged Utah Valley on shots, 13-11. The Razorbacks had seven shots on goal to UVU's five. The Wolverines had three corner kicks to Arkansas' one. Brockbank led UVU with five shots, including two on frame. Tripp had two shots, while Heather Stainbrook, Breanna Eves, Jenna Shepherd, and Anna Pickering each had one.

Utah Valley won't have to wait long for its next season as the Wolverines will return to the normal fall season in 2021.
