OREM – The Wolverines travel to Salt Lake City for a matchup against Cal Poly on Friday, Sep. 3. The match is set for 4:30 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the PAC-12 Utah Live Stream.
 
Cal Poly is from San Luis Obispo, California, and calls the Big West Conference home. Cal Poly is 1-3 this season, including a 3-0 sweep of Texas A&M CC. The Mustangs finished second in the Big West standings in 2019 before last season was wiped off by the pandemic. This marks the fifth matchup on the court as the Wolverines hold a 2-2 record against the Mustangs all-time. UVU dropped its last contest with Cal Poly in 2016, falling in straight sets, 3-0, in Provo, Utah. This marks the second-ever matchup between the two schools in Orem, with UVU winning the last matchup in Orem in five sets, 3-2 on Sep. 3, 2011.
 
Kristen Bell's career night led Utah Valley to a thrilling five-set victory over Hawaii, 3-2 (25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 24-26, 15-12) in front of a packed crowd in Lockhart Arena. With the win, UVU improves to 1-2 on the season as the Rainbow Wahine fall to 2-2 on the year. UH entered the match receiving votes in the AVCA Coaches Top-25 poll. The Wolverines had three players set career highs in the matchup with Hawaii.
 
Senior outside hitter Kazna Tanuvasa currently sits fourth in UVU history in career kills (1238), needing 363 to become the school's all-time leader. Tanuvasa also ranks third in career attacks and fifth in career points. Senior outside hitter Kristen Bell currently ranks 9th in career points (980) and kills (830).
 
Utah Valley will then continue north to Ogden, Utah to take on in-state rival Weber State on Wednesday, Sep. 8, at 6:00 p.m. MT.
