- Josie Williams recorded her 12th double-double of the season on Saturday at Lamar, which is sixth on the school's single-season list. Williams is second in the WAC in scoring at 16.5 per game while leading the league with 11.8 rebounds per game, which is tied for sixth nationally. Her 12 double-doubles is tied for fifth among all Division I players.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley University had three players reach double figures but came up short in double overtime at Lamar University, 59-55, on Saturday afternoon at the Montagne Center. Shay Fano had 14 points to lead Utah Valley (7-10, 2-4), while Madison Grange and Josie Williams had 10 points each. Williams also grabbed 12 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season. Angel Hastings had 15 points for Lamar (9-7, 4-3) with six coming in the overtime periods and Akasha Davis added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The game was UVU's first overtime contest since the 2020 season and first game to go at least two overtimes since 2009 in a game that last three extra frames at Southern Utah.
COMING UP
Following Monday's game, UVU is home to host Chicago State next Thursday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. The following week the Wolverines will host Stephen F. Austin (Feb. 3) and Sam Houston (Feb. 5) in Lockhart Arena.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Seattle U is 6-10 overall and 1-4 in WAC after dropping a heartbreaker in overtime, 57-56, on Saturday at home against Tarleton. The Redhawks defeated Abilene Christian last Thursday to pick up their first conference win. Bree Calhoun leads the team with 11.6 points per game. Seattle is 12-9 all-time against UVU, but the Wolverines have won two straight and are 7-3 all-time at home in the series.
