Utah Valley travels to the Lone Star State to face Abilene Christian and Tarleton

UTAH VALLEY TRAVELS TO TEXAS TO PLAY ABILENE CHRISTIAN, TARLETON
Utah Valley continues Western Athletic Conference play this week in the Lone Star State as the team travels to play Abilene Christian and Tarleton. The Wolverines will play at ACU on Friday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. (MT) before taking on Tarleton on Sunday, Oct. 23 at noon (MT). 

The Wolverines head into this week's matches after going a perfect 2-0 at home last week. UVU routed UTRGV 6-1 and shutout Stephen F. Austin, 2-0. Julianna Carter recorded just the eighth hat trick in UVU history with three goals in the win over UTRGV. Faith Webber and Sydney Bushman each scored a goal while Idalia Serrano picked up the clean sheet against SFA.

Utah Valley has scored 34 goals this season with Carter leading the team with eight. Webber ranks second with seven goals followed by Heather Stainbrook with six. Sydney Bushman has four goals and Nicole Ray has three. Lee and Isabella Steward have two goals apiece. Webber and Lee front the team in assists with six each. Carter leads the team in points with 20, followed by Webber with 19 and Stainbrook with 18. Webber fronts the team in shots (64) and shots on goal (32). The Utah Valley defense has four shutouts this season with Idalia Serrano in goal for three of them. Leah Wolf and Serrano also have a combined shutout. Serrano leads UVU with 33 saves and 978 minutes in the box.

Utah Valley's match at Abilene Christian on Friday night will be broadcast live on WAC International, which is available at WACSports.com. Sunday's match at Tarleton will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

ABOUT ABILENE CHRISTIAN
Abilene Christian enters the week with a 4-6-4 overall record and is looking for its first WAC win of the season as it sits at 0-4-3 in league play. ACU went 0-1-1 on the road last week, falling 4-2 at Grand Canyon before tying California Baptist, 0-0. The Wildcats scored both of its goals at GCU in the second half with  Chase Thorn scoring both goals. ACU holds a 3-1-2 record at home this season. The Wildcats last victory came at home in a 1-0 win over Texas Southern on Sept. 11. Thorn leads the Wildcats in scoring with six goals. She also has one assist and fronts the team with 13 points. Jordan Michie has four goals, while Caylen Wright has three. In goal, Lily Foster leads the team with 810 minutes and 51 saves.

ABOUT TARLETON
Tarleton holds a 4-7-3 overall record and a 0-5-2 mark in WAC play. The Texans are looking for their first win since a 5-9 shutout win at home over Texas Permian Basin back on Sept. 9. Tarleton holds a 3-1-2 mark at home this season and hasn't played on its home pitch since dropping a 1-0 decision to Southern Utah on Sept. 25. The Texans went 0-2-0 last week on the road with a 3-1 loss at California Baptist and a 6-1 setback at Grand Canyon. Mila Battinelli scored Tarleton's two goals last week and leads the team with five scores this season. She also has one assist and leads the team in points with 11. Mikayla Kendall leads the team in the box with 960 minutes, 34 saves, and a 1.59 goals against average.

UTAH VALLEY RANKS NO. 7 IN LATEST UNITED SOCCER COACHES PACIFIC REGION TOP-10 POLL
Utah Valley is ranked No. 7 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region Top-10 Poll released on Monday. The Wolverines have spent eight straight weeks in the poll.

After debuting at No. 10 in the week one poll, Utah Valley has since moved up three spots to No. 7 in the latest poll. The Wolverines are the only WAC team and the only non-Pac-12 team in the poll. The Pacific region consists of teams from the Mountain West Conference, Pac-12, and WAC.
