Trey Woodbury scored a season-high 22 points and
Aziz Bandaogo recorded his second straight double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Utah Valley to a 73-69 win over Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon at the UCCU Center.Â

Jaden McClanahan came in and gave us a great rhythm in the second half. He made some phenomenal plays and helped us hold on and win the game. Trey had a great game and played his game today. He played 35 minutes, and this is the player that
Trey Woodbury is and he's going to have a great year. We gave up 27 second chance points today and so we have to be better at that. That's a collective effort and we'll improve on that."

Woodbury scored the first nine points of the game to help Utah Valley jump out to a 15-3 lead over the first five minutes of the game. NAU got within eight points four times and UVU never led by more than 12 until
Le'Tre Darthard knocked down a three with four minutes to go to extend UVU's lead to a 13-point, 34-21, advantage. Woodbury knocked down a jumper at the 3:34 mark to give the Wolverines a 14-point 36-22 lead, but NAU knocked down a pair of threes to cut the UVU lead back to 11 points, 39-28 with 2:16 remaining in the half. Utah Valley would then outscore the Lumberjacks 4-3 over the final two minutes to take a 43-31 lead into the break.

Utah Valley went up by 15 points, 50-35, three minutes into the second half. Northern Arizona's Lloyd and Cone then knocked down back-to-back threes to spark a 19-4 NAU run over the next eight minutes to cut the UVU lead to tie the game, 54-54, with 8:53 to play. McClanahan then hit a shot from long range to start a 14-4 UVU run which included four threes to give the Wolverines a 68-58 lead with 3:14 remaining. NAU outscored the Wolverines 11-5 over the final three minutes, but UVU held on to take the 73-69 win.

Woodbury scored his game-high 22 points on a 7 of 13 clip from the floor, including a 4 of 6 mark from long range. He also knocked down 4 of 6 free throws and dished out five assists one block. Â

Le'Tre Darthard was also in double figures with 13 points, connecting on 5 of 8 shots from the field with three makes from beyond the arc. He also had four assists with three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Bandaogo scored his 13 points on 4 of 6 shooting. He also knocked down 5 of 6 shots at the free throw line. He pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds to go along with a season-high four blocks and one steal.

Justin Harmon scored seven points with six rebounds, five assists, and a block. McClanahan and
Tahj Small came off the bench to score seven points apiece. McClanahan scored all seven of his points in the second half.

Utah Valley now heads out on the road to take on Wake Forest on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The team will then travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica to play in the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic, Nov. 18-20. UVU's next home game will be on Dec. 3 against Long Beach State.
