Utah Valley to take on Green Bay on Sunday at Jamaica Classic

UTAH VALLEY TO TAKE ON GREEN BAY ON SUNDAY AT JAMAICA CLASSIC
Utah Valley will play in the consolation game of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic Rose Hall division on Sunday against Green Bay. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. (MT) at the Montego
Bay Convention Centre. 

The Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic features eight teams from eight conferences around the nation. The participating teams include Georgetown, Loyola Marymount, Wake Forest,
LaSalle, Wisconsin Green Bay, Morgan State, Queens University, and Utah Valley. The Wolverines are playing in the Rose Hall side of the bracket where they fell to Morgan State in
the first round and will now play Green Bay on Sunday.

Aziz Bandaogo scored 18 points with eight rebounds, while Le'Tre Darthard and Justin Harmon also scored in double figures to lead Utah Valley in a 73-72 overtime loss to Morgan
State in the first round of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. The loss is the second straight overtime setback for the Wolverines who fall to 2-3 on the season. Morgan State
improves to 2-3 on the season. Trailing by one point, 73-72, with 0.9 seconds remaining in overtime, Utah Valley's Darthard took a shot from beyond the arc and a foul was called.
The officials then took a review of the shot and determined that the clock did not start on time and that Darthard's shot would have taken place after the clock had expired. 

Aziz Bandaogo leads the Wolverines in scoring at 13.2 points a game and on the boards at 10.6 rebounds a game. Le'Tre Darthard (11.6 ppg.), Justin Harmon (11.4 ppg.), and Trey
Woodbury (11.4 ppg.) are also averaging double figures.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
Sunday's game against Green Bay will be broadcast live on HBCUgo, which is available at HBCUgo.tv and on the HBCUgo app. Dave Ryan and Steve Wolf will be on the call for the game.
 
ABOUT GREEN BAY
Green Bay enters Sunday's  matchup against Utah Valley with a 0-4 record. The team has played all four of its games this season away from home with its home opener not scheduled until Nov. 26 against UIC. The Phoenix dropped an 81-65 decision to Queens (NC) in the first round of the Jamaica Classic on Friday. Cade Meyer led Green Bay with 10 points on a 5 of 6 clip from the field in the setback to Queens. Four other players scored eight points against the Royals. Zae Blake leads the team in scoring this season at 10.3 points a game, followed by Davin Zeigler at 9.0 a contest. Zeigler also fronts the team on the boards, pulling down 4.8 rebounds a game. As a team, Green Bay averages 55.3 points a game while allowing opponents a 77.3 points per game average. Green Bay is coached by Will Ryan who is in his third season with the squad. Ryan's assistant coach, Freddie Owens, was an assistant coach at Utah Valley during the 2014-15 season.


SERIES HISTORY VS. GREEN BAY, HORIZON LEAGUE
Utah Valley and Green Bay will meet on the basketball hardwood for the first time. Sunday's game against the Phoenix will mark the 11th time that Utah Valley has played an opponent from the current teams in the Horizon League. UVU last played a current member of the Horizon League on Nov. 8, 2013 with Utah Valley defeating IUPUI, 74-66, in Orem.


LAST GAME: MORGAN STATE 73, UTAH VALLEY 72 (OT)

Utah Valley shot 34.5 percent (20-58) from the field with a 16.7 percent (4-24) clip from long range. Morgan State hit a 45.9 percent (28-61) mark from the field, including 36.8 percent (7-19) from three. Utah Valley outrebounded the Bears 43-33
 
BLOCK PARTY
Newcomer Aziz Bandaogo has played just five games but has already established himself as the team's rim protector. Bandaogo has 13 blocks, which already ranks him fifth in the nation. 
 
SEEING DOUBLE
Aziz Bandaogo came up just one point shy of a double-double in the overtime setback at Wake Forest and was two rebounds shy of a double-double against Morgan State. Bandaogo has two double-doubles, which ranks him 10th nationally.
 
OVERTIME
Utah Valley has already played two overtime games this season. The team has dropped both of those game by a combined four points. The Wolverines dropped a 68-65 decision at Wake Forest in OT before falling to Morgan State, 73-72, in the team's very next game. 
 
DUNK VALLEY
Utah Valley has 21 dunks over its five games this season and Aziz Bandaogo is responsible for 11 of them. Justin Harmon have three dunks apiece. Tim Fuller, Tim Ceaser, and Ethan Potter each have one.

Utah Valley has now been featured on ESPN's SporsCenter for six of the last seven seasons after Justin Harmon threw down a dunk against Wake Forest that landed him the No. 9 spot on SportsCenter's Top Plays.
