EUGENE, Ore.—
Trey Woodbury scored a season-high 24 points with nine rebounds and six assists to lead Utah Valley to a 77-72 road win over Oregon on Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
The win is the sixth straight for the Wolverines who improve to 9-4 overall on the season. The win marks the second straight season that Utah Valley has defeated a team from the Pac-12 Conference as the Wolverines defeated Washington last season in Seattle.

After leading by as many as 17 points in the first half, Oregon battle back in the second half to cut the Utah Valley lead to just two points, 68-66, with one minute to play. Woodbury knocked down a mid-range jumper out of a timeout to push the Wolverine lead back to four points, 70-66. The Wolverines then connected on seven of eight free throws down the stretch to secure the 77-72 win.
Oregon took an 8-4 lead through the first the first four minutes of play.
Justin Harmon then made a layup that started an 11-2 UVU run over the next four minutes to give the Wolverines a 15-10 lead with 12 minutes to play in the first half. Oregon then scored eight of the next 11 points to tie the game, 18-18. A
Tim Ceaser three-point bucket then sparked a 10-0 UVU run as the Wolverines jumped out to a 28-18 lead with 6:23 remaining in the half. UVU held a 10-point lead, 32-22, with 4:53 to play in the half and then outscored the Ducks 9-2 over the final four minutes to take a 41-24 lead into the break.
Oregon opened the second half scoring six of the first eight points to cut the UVU lead to 13 points, 43-30, with 16:14 to play. The two teams then exchanged buckets over the next five minutes as UVU held on to a 14-point, 54-40, lead with 12 minutes remaining. Oregon then used a 11-4 run over the next four minutes to cut the UVU lead to nine points, 60-51 with 7:35 to go. With the Wolverines leading 62-53, Oregon's Quincy Guerrier scored seven unanswered points to spark an 8-3 UO run to cut the UVU lead down to just four points, 65-61. Darthard knocked down the three on the following possession, but five more Guerrier points got the UVU lead down to just two points, 68-66, with 1:22 to play.
Up by just two points, 68-66, with one minute to play, Woodbury knocked down a mid-range jumper out of a timeout to push the Wolverine lead back to four points, 70-66. Utah Valley then knocked down seven of eight free throws over the final 30 seconds to secure the 77-72 win.
Woodbury scored his 24 points on 9 of 18 shooting from the field, including a 3 of 4 clip from long range. He also hit 3 of 6 shots at the free throw line. The senior guard pulled down a season-high nine rebounds with six assists and three steals.
Harmon and Ceaser were also in double figures with 13 points apiece. Harmon hit five shots from the floor, including a shot from beyond the arc. He pulled down seven rebounds with a pair of assists. Ceaser scored his season-high 13 points on 4 of 7 shooting, including a 2 of 3 mark from three-point range and a perfect 3 of 3 clip from the charity stripe. Ceaser also had five rebounds on the night.
Le'Tre Darthard scored nine points, while Nield had seven points with three assists.
As a team, Utah Valley shot 42.2 percent (27-64) on the night with a 40 percent (8-20) mark from three. The Wolverines held Oregon to 35.3 percent (24-68) shooting from the field and held the Ducks to just a 15.8 percent (3-19) from three-point range. Oregon outrebounded UVU 53-36. The Wolverines forced Oregon into 13 turnovers and scored 16 points off those turnovers.
Utah Valley now has nine days off before opening Western Athletic Conference play at home against Sam Houston on Thursday, Dec. 29. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. The Wolverines will then host in-state foe Utah Tech on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m.
