Fardaws Aimaq recorded a 19-point, 18-rebound double-double and
Justin Harmon added 17 points to lead Utah Valley to a 67-52 win over Seattle U on Thursday night at the UCCU Center.

Utah Valley improves to 18-9 overall and 9-6 in WAC play, while Seattle U falls to 21-8 overall and 12-4 in league play.

Justin Harmon with six assists and
Connor Harding with seven assists. Those guys can both distribute the ball. We finished the game with 18 assists on 24 made baskets. I was really happy that the ball was moving so well. In the first half, we didn't shoot the ball particularly well, but it was a great defensive game on both sides. Give Seattle U a lot of credit. They are a very good team, but our guys stepped up tonight."

After falling behind 3-2 to start the game, Utah Valley used a 10-3 run to jump out to a 12-6 lead with 11:51 to play in the first half. Seattle U countered with a 9-3 run of their own over the next six minutes to tie the game, 15-15, with 6:33 remaining. The Wolverines then hit five free throws as part of a 7-2 run that gave UVU a five-point lead, 22-17, with 2:32 left in the half. The Redhawks got back to within one point, 22-21, with 1:44 to play, but
Asa McCord and
Blaze Nield each knocked down threes during the final minute of the half to take a 28-24 lead into the break.

Seattle took a 34-33 lead just four minutes into the second half on Cameron Tyson jumper. Aimaq then knocked down a three to spark a 17-3 UVU run over a 7:46 span to give the Wolverines a 50-37 lead with 8:11 to play.

Aimaq recorded his 24th double-double of the season with 19 points and 18 rebounds. He knocked down 8 of 14 shots from the field, including a shot from long range. He also knocked down a perfect 2 of 2 shots at the free throw line. Aimaq also had three blocks with two assists and a steal.

Harmon scored his 17 points on 6 of 14 shooting, including a three. He hit 4 of 5 shots at the charity stripe. Harmon also had five rebounds with six assists, one block and a steal.
Trey Farrer scored nine points off the bench. Harding had six points with seven assists and two blocks.

Darrion Trammell led Seattle U with 11 points, followed by Riley Grigsby with 10.

As a team, Utah Valley shot 41.4 percent (24-58) from the floor, including a 37.5 percent (6-16) mark from beyond the arc. UVU held Seattle to a 27.4 percent (17-62) clip from the field and a 23.3 percent (7-30) mark from long range. Utah Valley outrebounded the Redhawks 50-39.

Utah Valley will wrap up its home slate on Saturday afternoon against California Baptist. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
