OGDEN, Utah and SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Utah Valley men's and women's track and field teams had a big weekend, winning eight events at the Weber State Spring Open and the Utah Spring Classic.
Zane Farrer and
Caleb Furnell each won a pair of events while
Larissa Dabb,
Aaron Johnson,
Kelsi Oldroyd, and
Maysen Rollo each took home gold. The Wolverines had 29 top-three finished over the weekend at the two in-state meets.
WEBER STATE SPRING OPEN
Farrer won the 110m hurdles, finishing with a time of 14.18. Johnson took first in the100m with a time of 10.44, while Furnell finished second with a time of 10.48.
Cameron Franklin took second in the 400m with a time of 48.17 while
Seth Krauss finisehd second in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.09m.
Jeffrey Duvinston and
Dallin Snyder each cleared 2.01m in the high jump to finish third and fourth, respectively.
Dylan Clements finished third in the long jump with a distance of 6.73m.
Dabb won the 400m, finishing with a time of 55.06.
Emma Newbold took second in the 100m with a time of 12.17 while
Kallie Given cleared a height of 1.69m in the high jump to finished in second.
Zoe Hales finished second in the 3000m steeplechase, finishing with a time of 11:29.46, while
Madison White took third with a time of 12:14.89. the women's 4x100 team took second with a time of 47.39 while
Madison Clark cleared a height of 1.64 to finished third in the high jump.
UTAH SPRING CLASSIC
Furnell won both the 100m and the 200m dashes, finishing with times of 10.44 and 21.56 respectively. Farrer took gold in the 400m hurdles, finishing with a time of 54.34. Johnson took second in both the 100m and the 200m, finishing with times of 10.48, and 21.56, respectively.
Andrew Blackham took second in the 5000m with a time of 15:17.89 while
Porter Westerlind cleared a heigh of 4.65m to finished second in the pole vault.
Oldroyd won the javelin throw with a distance of 45.92m. Rollo led a one, two, three finish for the Wolverines in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.40m, while
Ally Keil took second with a height of 3.25m and Elizabeth Ramey Pole took third with a height of 3.10m. Dabb took second in the 200m, finishing with a time of 25.00, while also finishing third in the 100m with a time of 12.21.
Sydney Dennis took third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.16m.
The Wolverines head to Azuza Pacific, Mt. Saint College, and Long Beach State on Wednesday, April 13, through Saturday, April 16, for three overlapping meets. Utah Valley then returns to the Beehive State for the BYU Robison Invitational on Wednesday, April 20, through Saturday, April 23. UVU will also send athletes to the Oregon Relays on Thursday, April 21, through Saturday, April 23.
