Utah Valley hosts No. 23 UCF on Thursday night at Clyde Field

UTAH VALLEY HOSTS UCF ON THURSDAY NIGHT AT CLYDE FIELD
Utah Valley will host No. 23 Central Florida on Thursday night at Clyde Field. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

The Wolverines head into Thursday's match fresh off a 2-0 win over Colorado College on Monday night at Clyde Field, extending UVU's home unbeaten streak to eight games. Heather Stainbrook and Julianna Carter each scored goals and the Utah Valley defense picked up its first clean sheet of the season.

UCF holds a 1-0-1 overall record with a season-opening 3-0 shutout win over Florida at home on Aug. 18. The team then played LSU to a 1-1 draw on the road. The team played a pair of exhibition contests, defeating FAU 2-1 and Miami 3-0. In UCF's 1-1 tie at LSU on Sunday, junior midfielder Katie Bradley scored on a free kick just outside the box in the 30th minute. UCF redshirt senior keeper Caroline DeLisle made a big save that ended up on SportsCenter's top plays. Four different players have scored a goal this season for the Knights. In goal, DeLisle has allowed just one goal and has made 10 saves. 

Utah Valley has scored three goals this season with Carter, Stainbrook, and Sydney Bushman each finding the back of the net. The Wolverines have an impressive five assists coming from five different players. Faith Webber leads the Wolverines with eight shots, including two on frame. In goal Idalia Serrano has allowed only one goal in her two matches while collecting four saves and a shutout in the box. 

After its 1-0-1 start to the season, the Wolverines entered the United Soccer Coaches Pacific region poll on Tuesday, debuting at No. 10. 

The Wolverines continue play at home on Thursday night where the team holds an impressive eight-game unbeaten streak. UVU's last loss at Clyde Field was nearly a year ago on Aug. 28 when the Wolverines took a 4-2 setback to 25th-ranked USC.

Thursday night's match against UCF will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Brandon Crow calling the action. All UVU home matches will be broadcast on ESPN+ this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. UCF
Utah Valley and UCF will meet on the pitch for the first time on Thursday night. Utah Valley has played two teams from The American conference in its history. The team dropped a pair of games to Tulsa in 2006 and 2017, respectively. UVU most recently defeated American member Memphis, 1-0, in the first round of the 2020-21 NCAA Tournament. The win was Utah Valley's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory in any sport in school history. 

UVU IN HOME OPENERS
With its 2-0 win over Colorado College on Monday night, the Wolverines improved to 11-6-3 in home openers at Clyde Field. UVU has not lost a home opener since falling to Weber State in double overtime in 2013. 

CLYDE FIELD MAGIC
Utah Valley holds an impressive 93-40-13 all time record at Clyde Field. The team has lost just eight matches over the past five seasons on the home pitch. UVU went 8-1-1 in 2021, 4-1-2 in 2020, 8-1-1 in 2019, 3-4-1 at home in 2018, 5-1-0 in 2017, 5-2-1 during the 2016 season and were unbeaten at home during the 2015 season with a 9-0-1 mark. UVU ranked 10th in the nation in attendance in 2021 as the Wolverines drew an impressive 14,828 fans during the season, an average of 1,483 per game. UVU currently holds a eight-match unbeaten streak at Clyde Field. UVU's last loss at Clyde Field was a 4-2 setback on Aug. 28, 2021. 

UTAH VALLEY ENTERS UNITED SOCCER COACHES PACIFIC REGION TOP-10 POLL
With its 1-0-1 start to the season, Utah Valley earned a spot in the first United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region Top-10 poll of the season. The Wolverines hold the No. 10 spot in the poll. UCLA holds the top spot in the regional poll.

WOLVERINES SHUTOUT COLORADO COLLEGE 2-0 IN HOME OPENER
Heather Stainbrook and Julianna Carter each scored goals and the Utah Valley defense picked up the shutout in a 2-0 win over Colorado College in the team's home opener at Clyde Field on Monday night.
