Utah Valley Volleyball Opens Home Slate

OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University volleyball team will open its 2022 home schedule on Aug. 29, 2022, with a home game against Cal Poly from the Big West. UVU will honor the 2021 WAC Tournament Championship team and Kazna Tanuvasa for breaking the all-time UVU kills record.

Utah Valley went 0-3 this past weekend at the Utah Classic, dropping two matches to Top-25 ranked teams in No. 23 Kansas and No. 22 Utah. Loyola Marymount also defeated the Wolverines in the tournament.

Cal Poly is 0-2 on the year after dropping matches to No. 4 UCLA and Utah State at the Utah State Invitational in Logan. Last year, the Mustangs defeated the Wolverines 3-0 in Salt Lake City. UVU won the only other matchup in Orem 3-2 back in 2012. Cal Poly holds the all-time series record at 3-2, and this year were picked to finish third in the Big West behind Hawaii and UC Santa Barbara.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Matt Baiamonte and Kayli Doxey on the call. Live stats will be available on uvustats.com.

UVU will remain home later this week for the UVU Invitational with matches against California and Northern Arizona. Tickets for all home matches are still available. You can get tickets by clicking on the link above.
