Iguchi, McKinlay named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla.—The Golf Coaches Association of America has announced that Utah Valley University golfers Kai Iguchi and Brady McKinlay have been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars. It marks the second time that both Iguchi and McKinlay have earned the award. 
 
To be eligible for the All-America Scholar award, individuals must participate in 40-percent of the team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. The recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
 
Iguchi played in all 12 of Utah Valley's tournaments during the 2021-22 season. He recorded three top-25 finishes, including a pair of top-10 performances. The Alberta, Canada native finished fifth at the Loyola Intercollegiate with a three-round score of 8-under-par 208 (66-74-68). 
 
Iguchi had a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during his last semester and holds an impressive 3.91 cumulative GPA.
 
McKinlay led Utah Valley with a 72.72 stroke average this past season. He earned second team All-WAC honors and finished the season with four top-10 finishes. His best finish of the season was a second place showing at the Bandon Dunes Invitational.

McKinlay holds a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average and registered a 3.88 GPA last semester.
 
Both Iguchi and McKinlay have had impressive off-seasons with both competing in numerous tournaments. McKinlay won the Alberta Men's Amateur Championship in June. Iguchi and McKinlay are currently competing in the Canadian Amateur.
