OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's volleyball team will put their five-game winning streak on the line Tuesday night at the Wayne Estes Center in Logan, Utah. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
The Wolverines went 2-0 over the weekend at the Harvard/Northeastern Challenge. UVU defeated Harvard in four sets on Sept. 9 in Cambridge and on Sept. 10 beat Northeastern in four sets for a weekend sweep.
Kazna Tanuvasa had 16 kills against the Huskies on the way to being named to the all-tournament team. Teammate
Avery Shewell had another solid weekend with 22 kills and joined Tanuvasa on the all-tournament team.
Abbie Miller and
Natalie Palmer had 48 assists each on the weekend.
Utah State is 6-2 on the year and has a four-match winning streak going 3-0 at Oregon State last weekend with wins over the host Beavers, Portland and Portland State. The Aggies received votes in the AVCA Coaches poll for the week of Sept. 5, 2022. Shelby Capllonch leads the Aggies with 65 kills but has three teammates over 50 kills to have a strong attack against opponents. Leah Wilton-LaBoy and Beatriz Rodriguez both average over five assists a set.
UVU holds a 10-8 record all-time vs. Utah State and has won the last four matchups. Utah Valley overall is 4-5 when visiting Logan. The Aggies last won in 2016 in Orem in a five-set match.
The Wolverines will return home against Weber State on Sept. 15 and then will hit the road for matches against No. 10 BYU and Utah Tech next week.
