UVU heads to Cedar City to face T-Birds

OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University heads to Cedar City for a matchup at in-state foe Southern Utah University on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. MT. The game will air live on ESPN+.

The Wolverines (4-11, 1-3) just finished a stretch with four out of five games at home and will now play three of their next four — and five of the next seven — on the road.

UVU fell 69-61 to California Baptist last Saturday. Shay Fano led the team with 19 points and eight rebounds, but the Wolverines were without leading scorer and rebounder, Jaeden Brown. Brown is averaging 14.6 points and 9.3 rebounds on the season and in three conference games is averaging 24.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 3.0 blocks per game. 

UP NEXT
The Wolverines return home to the UCCU Center to host Abilene Christian on Saturday in a women's and men's doubleheader. The women's game tips off at 2 p.m. while the men will host Seattle U at 6 p.m.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Southern Utah is the lone unbeaten team in WAC play, at 3-0 so far in conference games. The Thunderbirds are 7-7 overall and in their first season as members of the WAC. Cherita Daugherty leads the team with an average of 14.6 points per game while Lizzy Williamson leads the WAC with an average of 10.5 rebounds per contest. Former Wolverine Megan Jensen has started all 14 games for SUU and is averaging 11.3 points and 6.7 rebounds.
