Nicole Olanda each found the back of the net and the Wolverine defense picked up the shutout in a 3-0 road win over WAC foe Tarleton State on Thursday night at Tarleton Soccer Complex.

Utah Valley improves to 7-3-4 overall and 4-0-1 in WAC play. The Wolverines extend their unbeaten streak to eight matches, including four straight wins. UVU has now outscored WAC opponents 22-2 this season. Tarleton falls to 4-8-3 overall on the year and 1-3-1 in WAC play.

"We're happy with a shutout and three points," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We created a lot of scoring opportunities. We were just a step off today with 30 shots and only three goals. Sometimes you just got to grind it out. We'll take the three points and the shutout and move on to Sunday."Â

Hladek scored the would-be game-winner in the 31st minute as she fired a shot with her right foot to the bottom center of the goal. The goal is Hladek's second of the season and marks her first game winner of the year.Â

UVU came out of halftime and scored quickly as
Manthy Brady sent a ball into the box from the left side of the field in 48th minute. Stainbook headed then headed the ball into the back of the net go give the Wolverines a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute.

Just five minutes later,
Ashley Hughes dribbled the ball down the left side of the pitch and sent a ball into the box. Olanda came immediately fired a shot from the top of the box and into the goal to give Utah Valley a 3-0 advantage in the 53rd minute.

Utah Valley outshot Tarleton State 30-5 on the night and had a 16-2 advantage on shots on goal. The Wolverines had four corner kicks while holding the Texans without a corner. Stainbrook led UVU with a match-high eight shots with two on frame. Hladek had seven shots with six shots on goal, while
Faith Webber had four shots.

CJ Graham picked up the solo shutout in the box to pick up her fifth win of the season in goal. Graham had two saves on the night. The UVU defense allowed the Texans five shots with only two on frame.Â
