OPENING TIP
Utah Valley heads to the Twin Cities this weekend for a game at the University of St. Thomas. Tip is set for 2:30 p.m. CT/1:30 p.m. MT from Schoenecker Arena in St. Paul. The game will air on the Summit League Network. The Wolverines are 1-1 on the young season and led in scoring by Ally Criddle, who is averaging 9.0 points per game while Tessa Chaney is at 8.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. UVU opened the season with a 56-55 win over Weber State before falling 59-44 at BYU.Â

Despite a staunch effort on the defensive end, Utah Valley University struggled to put the ball in the bucket, falling 59-44 at BYU on Tuesday night in the Marriott Center. Tessa Chaney finished with 10 points and a career-high nine rebounds to lead the Wolverines. UVU forced 20 BYU turnovers but the Cougars (3-0) won the rebounding battle, 55-27, while the Wolverines hit just 28.6% (16-for-56) from the field.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
St. Thomas split its first two games of the season, falling at Drake before winning the home opener over UW-River Falls, 101-62. The Tommies are in year three of a transition from NCAA DIII to NCAA DI, something Utah Valley is somewhat familiar with after moving from the NJCAA to NCAA DI in 2003.Â
Jade Hill is averaging 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds through two games, while Amber Scalia is scoring 18.0 per game and has six made 3-pointers. The Tommies have hit 20 triples as a team, including 14 makes in the win over UW-River Falls.Â

St. Thomas won the only prior meeting between the schools, defeating the Wolverines 62-43 last season in Orem.
