OREM—Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay has announced that midfielders Jasmine Lim and Marie Quentel have signed with Utah Valley and will join the Wolverines for the 2024 season.
Â
"It is a great day for UVU women's soccer as we finally get to announce the additions of two fantastic midfield players," said Lemay.
Â
Lim, from Montreal, Canada, is a 5-foot-8 center midfielder who played high school soccer at West Island College in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC. Lim led her U16 team to the 2022 Quebec Cup title. She earned a selection to the Lac St. Louis regional team and participated in the Quebec-Ontario series.Â
Â
"Jasmine has unbelievable technical ability on the ball, great vision and can break lines off the dribble," said Lemay. "She has great size and presence in the center of the park and wonderful composure. We anticipate both Marie and Jasmine making a positive impact as soon as they arrive in Orem in January."
Â
Quentel, from Brest, France, is a 5-foot-5 midfielder who played for Lycée Brequigny High School in Rennes, France. She is a transfer from Iowa Western Community College where she earned NJCAA and United Soccer Coaches All American honors. She has earned MVP honors at the regional and district tournament levels. She has led her team to District, Region, and a National Championship. Her team will be vying for a second straight national title on Saturday.Â
Â
"Marie is a ball winning holding center mid that reads the game well and can orchestrate our attack when she is on the ball," said Lemay. "Marie has had a lot of success at junior college Iowa Western but developed as a youth in her home country of France. Jasmine is from Quebec, Canada and in currently in the Academy program where her team played in the 2022 National Finals."
Â
Lim and Quentel will be joining the Wolverines in January in preparation for the 2024 season.
