Tanner Toolson recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead Utah Valley to a 67-65 win over Southern Miss on Sunday in the first game of the Jacksonville Classic at Flagler Gymnasium in St. Augustine, Florida. Tied 64-64 with just 51 seconds to play, Jaden McClanahan knocked down three-point shot from the corner to give the Wolverines a 67-64 lead. Southern Miss then went 1 of 2 from the free throw line and couldn't get a shot off at the buzzer as Utah Valley defeated the Golden Eagles, 67-65. McClanahan was also in double figures with 12 points, while Drake Allen neared a double-double with eight points and nine assists.

Monday's game against Cornell in the championship game of the Bay Bracket in the Jacksonville Classic will be broadcast live on Pass The Ball Live Media, which is available at PassTheBallLive.com. ABOUT CORNELL
Cornell enters Monday's game against Utah Valley with a 4-1 overall record. The team opened the season with three straight wins, defeating Lehigh on the road, SUNY Morrisville at home, and Fordham on the road. The team then dropped a 90-83 decision at George Mason. Cornell defeated Cal State Fullerton, 88-70, on Sunday to advance to Monday's championship game against Utah Valley. Four players scored in double figures led by Cooper Noard's career-best 18 points in Cornell's 88-70 win over Cal State Fullerton yesterday. Noard leads the Big Red in scoring at 13.4 points a game. Chris Manon (11.6), Sean Hansen (11.6), and Adam Tsang Hinton (11.0) also average double figures. As a team, Cornell is averaging 88.0 points a game while allowing opponents a 79.4 points per game average. The team is averaging nearly 11 three-point field goas per game. 

SERIES HISTORY VS. CORNELL, THE IVY LEAGUE
Utah Valley and Cornell will meet up on the basketball hardwood for the first time on Monday. It also marks the first time that Utah Valley has played a team from the Ivy League. 

JACKSONVILLE CLASSIC
Utah Valley is one of the eight teams that will be participating in the Jacksonville Classic, Nov. 19 and 20, at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. The Wolverines are competing in the Bay Bracket along with Southern Miss, Cornell, and Cal State Fullerton. The Coast Bracket will feature Charlotte, UCF, South Dakota State, and George Mason. UVU defeated Southern Miss on Sunday to advance to Monday's championship game against Cornell. Cornell defeated Cal State Fullerton to advance to the championship. Toolson scored his 22 points on 8 of 16 shooting, including four three-point field goals. He also hit 2 of 3 shots from the free throw line. The redshirt freshman also pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds with three steals, one assist, and a block.
