UTAH VALLEY TO TAKE ON CORNELL IN JACKSONVILLE CLASSIC BAY BRACKET CHAMPIONSHIP
Utah Valley will play in the championship game of the Jacksonville Classic bay bracket on Monday against Cornell. Tip-off is slated for noon (MT). Utah Valley defeated Southern Miss, 67-65, while Cornell downed Cal State Fullerton, 88-70, on Sunday to advance to Monday's title game.
Tanner Toolson recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead Utah Valley to a 67-65 win over Southern Miss on Sunday in the first game of the Jacksonville Classic at Flagler Gymnasium in St. Augustine, Florida. Tied 64-64 with just 51 seconds to play, Jaden McClanahan knocked down three-point shot from the corner to give the Wolverines a 67-64 lead. Southern Miss then went 1 of 2 from the free throw line and couldn't get a shot off at the buzzer as Utah Valley defeated the Golden Eagles, 67-65. McClanahan was also in double figures with 12 points, while Drake Allen neared a double-double with eight points and nine assists.

Cornell defeated Cal State Fullerton, 88-70, on Sunday to advance to Monday's championship game against Utah Valley. Four players scored in double figures led by Cooper Noard's career-best 18 points in Cornell's 88-70 win over Cal State Fullerton yesterday. Noard leads the Big Red in scoring at 13.4 points a game. Chris Manon (11.6), Sean Hansen (11.6), and Adam Tsang Hinton (11.0) also average double figures. Utah Valley is one of the eight teams that will be participating in the Jacksonville Classic, Nov. 19 and 20, at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. The Wolverines are competing in the Bay Bracket along with Southern Miss, Cornell, and Cal State Fullerton. The Coast Bracket will feature Charlotte, UCF, South Dakota State, and George Mason. UVU defeated Southern Miss on Sunday to advance to Monday's championship game against Cornell. Cornell defeated Cal State Fullerton to advance to the championship.
