WBB home to host Westminster on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

OPENING TIP
For the first-time since a win in its season opener, Utah Valley University returns to the UCCU Center this week and will host Westminster University on Tuesday at 6 p.m. MT. The game will air live on ESPN+. It will be the Wolverines' third in-state game so far this season, with five of the first nine games against other Utah schools. Through three games, Tessa Chaney leads the team with averages of 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while Ally Criddle is averaging 8.3 ppg.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley University ran out of time in its attempt to comeback, dropping a 70-62 last Saturday afternoon contest at the University of St. Thomas. Chaney led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 10 points off the bench.

The Wolverines had a balanced offensive output, with six different players scoring seven points or more. Amanda Barcello added nine points while Kylee Mabry chipped in eight and had a pair of steals. Chaney pulled down seven boards to lead UVU in that category. Eleyana Tafisi finished with six points and a game-high eight assists.

The Tommies got a game-high 28 points from Amber Scalia, who was 16-for-16 from the free-throw line in the contest. St. Thomas was 23-of-32 overall from the line while Utah Valley converted on 13 -of-22 from the charity stripe.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

Westminster is 2-2 on the season after sweeping two games at home over the weekend against Alaska Fairbanks. Teuila Nawahine leads the team with 18.5 points per game while Maunayia Harrigfeld is pulling down 10.3 rebounds per contest. Tuesday's game is an exhibition for the Griffins, who compete in the RMAC in NCAA Division II.

THE All-TIME SERIES

Utah Valley has won the three prior meetings between the programs, but the two haven't met since the 2005 season. The Wolverines are 2-0 at home and 1-0 on the road against the Griffins, who were members of NAIA in the prior times the programs went head-to-head.

UP NEXT

Utah Valley will travel to Moscow, Idaho for an after contest on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 2 p.m. MT. Next week, the Wolverines will play two early games in WAC play. They'll open the conference schedule at Seattle U on Nov. 29 and return home to host Utah Tech in the Old Hammer Rivalry on Dec. 2.
