ARLINGTON, Texas—Utah Valley's
Brady McKinlay has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the competition week ending on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
McKinlay, a senior, captured his fourth straight individual tournament victory in leading Utah Valley to a 20-shot team triumph at the Southern Utah Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational on Feb. 10-12 at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. McKinlay carded rounds of 68-74-65=207 (-9) to best Tarleton's Jack Anderson by one stroke for medalist honors on the par-72, 6,781-yard layout. McKinlay rolled in six birdies and an eagle in his final round 65, tying Anderson for the low 18-hole round of the tournament, and bested the field scoring average of 74.61 in each round.
With his four straight individual titles, McKinlay has become Utah Valley's all-time leader in career wins.
The Utah Valley men's golf team will continue spring play at the Loyola Invitational, Feb. 26-28, at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
