Utah Valley women's soccer to take on LDA in Costa Rica Tonight

COSTA RICA—The Utah Valley University women's soccer team will play Liga Deportiva Alajuelense (LDA) tonight as part of the team's international trip to Costa Rica. The game will kick off at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed live on the Utah Valley women's soccer social media platforms.

"Our Costa Rica trip has already been amazing, the team trained well on Saturday, had a great time white water rafting in the rainforest yesterday but now we are focused on the match this evening," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Lemay. "It is a great opportunity for our team to play against LDA, the reigning champions of the first professional division for Costa Rica. We hope that our family, friends, and fans in the US watch the live stream tonight at 7pm MST as we look to get a result!"

Liga Deportiva Alajuelense plays in the top league in the Costa Rican system. The team has three primera division championships, two Concacaf Champions League titles, one UNCAF Club Cup, and one Concacaf League championship. LDA holds a 21-9-10 record this season in the primera division.

Utah Valley returns 12 players, including eight starters from last year's WAC championship team that earned the team's first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

During the 10-day, 9-night trip, the team will also take on the U20 Costa Rica National Team on May 10 and San Carlos on May 11. The team will also participate in a community service project as team will host a soccer clinic on Tuesday.

The match against LDA will kick off at 7 p.m. (MT) and will be streamed live on the Utah Valley women's soccer social media outlets.
