UTAH VALLEY CONTINUES ROAD PLAY AT STEPHEN F. AUSTIN ON THURSDAY NIGHT
- Utah Valley continues road play this week as the Wolverines travel to The Lone Star State to take on Stephen F. Austin on Thursday night at William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. (MT)

- Caleb Stone-Carrawell scored a team-high 14 points and Trevin Dorius added 10 to lead Utah Valley in a 62-61 setback on the road to Seattle U on Jan. 26 at the Redhawk Center in Seattle. Despite only scoring only two points over the final 6:11, Utah Valley still had an opportunity to pull out the victory but missed a game-winning shot at the buzzer.

- Utah Valley's road woes continue after dropping a 62-61 decision at Seattle U on Friday night. After winning its first road game of the season, 79-73, at Sam Houston, Utah Valley has dropped nine straight true road games to fall to 1-9 on the road this season. With its game at SFA on Thursday night, UVU will have played five of its last six games on the road.

- Utah Valley has used seven different starting lineups this season. The Wolverines have used a starting lineup that includes two freshmen with Tanner Toolson and Osiris Grady five times this season.

- As a team, Utah Valley leads the WAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.13. Drake Allen leads the WAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.90. UVU also ranks second in assists per game at 14.05. Trevin Dorius ranks sixth in the WAC in rebounding at 7.45 boards a game. Dorius also ranks sixth in offensive boards per game at 2.75.

- Utah Valley is only one of six teams in the nation that returned players with a total of zero starts from the 2022-23 season. UVU has 11 new players this season, including seven transfers. The only returning players that saw time last season are Jaden McClanahan and Ethan Potter and neither started a game last season.

- Todd Phillips enters his first season as the head coach of the Utah Valley basketball team. Phillips is no stranger to UVU as he spent the past four seasons as an associate head coach/assistant coach under previous head coach Mark Madsen. Phillips helped UVU to two WAC regular season titles (2020-21, 2022-23) and an impressive 70-51 record, including 48 wins over the last two seasons.

Thursday night's game in the Lone Star State will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Chase Merrell and Jonathan Shuskey will be on the call for the ESPN+ broadcast. The game will also be broadcast over the air waves in Utah County with Jim McCulloch on the call. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960 AM radio with a live stream available at ESPN960sports.com. Brice Larson will host the pregame/halftime/postgame show for the game on ESPN 960 AM.Â

Stephen F. Austin enters Thursday's game against the Wolverines with an 12-8 overall record and an 5-4 mark in WAC play. The Lumberjacks dropped a pair of home games last week, falling 53-51 to league leader Grand Canyon before taking an 81-79 loss to California Baptist. SFA lost both games in the final seconds. Junior guard Latrell Jossell led the Jacks with a game-high 23 points in the loss to CBU on Saturday. AJ Cajuste and Matt Hayman were also in double figures against the Lancers with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Sadaidriene Hall is the only player averaging double figures at 10.7 points a contest. Jossell averages 9.8 points per game, while Hayman ranks third at 9.3 points a game. Hall and Nana Antwi-Boasiako lead the team on the boards, pulling down 4.8 rebounds per game apiece. As a team, SFA ranks fourth in the nation in turnovers forced per game at 17.95. The Jacks also rank sixth nationally in bench points per game at 36.25. The team ranks 15th in the country in free throw attempts per game (24.5) and 16th in free throws made per game (17.6). The team also steals the ball, ranking 19th in the country in steals with 9.2 takeaways per game.Â
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE LUMBERJACKS
Utah Valley and Stephen F. Austin will meet for just the third time on the basketball hardwood. The all-time series is tied 1-1 with each team winning on its home floor. Utah Valley and SFA meet for just the second time in Nacagdoches with the Jacks taking a 78-59 win on Feb. 3, 2022 in the only meeting in the Lone Star State.Â

SECOND-BEST STEALS PER GAME MARK IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Utah Valley currently holds the second-best steals per game average in program history at 7.7 steals a contest. The school record for steals per game average is 8.5 set during the 2003-04 season. The record for steals in a season is 239 set last season during the team's run to the semifinals of the NIT over a 37-game season. UVU has 154 steals through 20 games this season.
