OREM — Utah Valley sophomore Dane Huddleston has been named the University Credit Union WAC Men's Golfer of the Month for October after an exceptional month that included back-to-back individual titles and a third-place finish across consecutive tournaments.
Huddleston wrapped up October with a standout performance at the 2024 Kapolei Invitational, where he carded a final-round 4-under-par 68 to finish at 6-under-par 210 (67-75-68), winning the 87-player field and capturing his second straight individual title. His efforts helped Utah Valley finish tied for fourth on the 15-team leaderboard, closing the fall season on a high note.
Earlier in the month, Huddleston secured the individual title at the Utah Shootout with an impressive two-round score of 12-under-par 132 (64-68). He opened with an 8-under-par 64, highlighted by an eagle on the 281-yard, par-4 14th hole and seven birdies, followed by a 4-under-par 68 with five more birdies to seal the title and propel Utah Valley to the team championship.
Huddleston's October success began with a strong performance at the Oregon State Invitational, where he shot a final-round 1-over-par 72 to place third with a three-round score of 4-under-par 209 (68-69-72). His consistency contributed to Utah Valley's fifth-place team finish at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Oregon.
Huddleston's impressive play throughout October has established him as one of the WAC's top golfers, providing momentum for the upcoming spring season.
The Wolverines will resume play on Feb. 16 at the Mesquite Desert Classic in Mesquite, Nevada, to open their spring schedule.
