Utah Valley travels to play Idaho State on Wednesday night

UTAH VALLEY TRAVELS TO PLAY IDAHO STATE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT REED GYM
  • Utah Valley hits the road for a Wednesday night matchup at Idaho State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MT at Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and over the airwaves on the Wolverine Sports Network (960 AM/103.9 FM in Utah County, 98.3 FM/101.5 HD2 in Salt Lake County).
     
  • Dominick Nelson scored 20 points and Tanner Toolson added a season-high 19 points, but Utah Valley fell 70-66 at Jacksonville State on Saturday. The Wolverines led 48-42 with 9:33 to play, but a 17-2 Gamecock run shifted momentum. UVU battled back to within three points in the final minute, but Jax State sealed the win at the free-throw line. Toolson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Hayden Welling chipped in eight points and Jackson Holcombe added six off the bench.

  • After opening the season with two games at home, Utah Valley spent over a month on the road with seven straight road games, culminating in a setback at James Madison on Dec. 7. The Wolverines will play 10 of their 14 non-conference games on the road, traveling a total of 15,180 miles during this stretch. Key stops include Murray, Kentucky; Birmingham, Alabama; Stanford, California; Harrisonburg, Virginia; Jacksonville, Alabama; Pocatello, Idaho; and Ogden, Utah.

  • Utah Valley snapped a four-game losing streak with a commanding 80-57 victory over North Dakota in its return to the UCCU Center on Dec. 11. The Wolverines opened the second half with a blistering 20-3 run to build a 21-point lead and never looked back. Carter Welling led UVU with 19 points, while Dominick Nelson added 15. Trevan Leonhardt nearly recorded a triple-double with nine points, nine rebounds, and six assists. The Wolverines shot 51.7% from the field.

BROADCAST INFORMATION
Wednesday night's game at Idaho State will be broadcast live on ESPN+, which is available on the ESPN app and at ESPNplus.com. The game will also be broadcast over the air waves on the Wolverine Sports Network with Matt Baiamonte on the call. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960 AM/103.9 FM radio in Utah County and 98.3 FM/105.1 (HD2) in Salt Lake City with a live stream available at ESPN960sports.com. Brice Larson will host the pregame/halftime/postgame show for the game.

ABOUT IDAHO STATE
Idaho State (5-5) hosts Utah Valley in its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday night at Reed Gym in Pocatello, where the Bengals are 4-0 at home this season. Idaho State is coming off a dominant 97-43 win over Walla Walla, highlighted by three players recording double-doubles, including Jake O'Neil, who tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season. The Bengals lead the Big Sky and rank first nationally in rebound margin (+14.9), while also ranking in the top 30 in scoring defense (64.3 points allowed per game). O'Neil ranks 14th nationally in rebounds per game (9.9), while Evan Otten is sixth in the nation in blocks per game (2.8). 

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE BENGALS
Utah Valley leads the all-time series against Idaho State 7-4, including six consecutive wins dating back to 2014. The Wolverines secured an 88-77 victory in the most recent matchup on Dec. 19, 2018, in Orem. UVU holds a 4-1 record at home and is 3-3 in Pocatello, where the teams will meet for the first time since a 100-76 Wolverine win on Dec. 12, 2015. The series began in 2004, with Idaho State winning three of the first four matchups before UVU took control of the series.
