UTAH VALLEY SET TO BATTLE IN-STATE FOE WEBER STATE IN OGDEN
- Utah Valley wraps up a three-game road stretch and plays its final non-conference road game of the season on Saturday night against in-state rival Weber State. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MT at the Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and over the air waves on the Wolverine Sports Network (960 AM/103.9 FM in Utah County, 98.3 FM/101.5 HD2 in Salt Lake County).

- Utah Valley earned a 70-56 road victory over Idaho State on Wednesday night at Reed Gym in Pocatello. Carter Welling led the Wolverines with a career-high 23 points and nine rebounds, sparking a second-half surge. Trailing 43-39 early in the second half, UVU used a 16-5 run to take control and closed the game with a strong defensive effort, outscoring the Bengals 15-8 down the stretch. Dominick Nelson added 14 points, while Jackson Holcombe contributed a career-high 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench. It marked Idaho State's first home loss of the season.

- After opening the season with two games at home, Utah Valley spent over a month on the road with seven straight road games, culminating in a setback at James Madison on Dec. 7. The Wolverines will play 10 of their 14 non-conference games on the road, traveling a total of 15,180 miles during this stretch. - Dominick Nelson scored 20 points and Tanner Toolson added a season-high 19 points, but Utah Valley fell 70-66 at Jacksonville State last Saturday. The Wolverines led 48-42 with 9:33 to play, but a 17-2 Gamecock run shifted momentum. UVU battled back to within three points in the final minute, but Jax State sealed the win at the free-throw line. Toolson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, while Hayden Welling chipped in eight points and Jackson Holcombe added six off the bench.

Weber State (6-6) hosts Utah Valley on Saturday night in its final non-conference home game of the season at the Dee Events Center, where the Wildcats hold a 3-2 record. Weber State is coming off a dominant 128-58 win over Lincoln University, tying the second-most points in a game in school history and achieving the fifth-largest margin of victory. The Wildcats knocked down 17 three-pointers, with nine players connecting from beyond the arc, and shot a season-best 62 percent from the field. Blaise Threatt led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds for his second career double-double. Weber State ranks among the Big Sky leaders in scoring (80.2 points per game) and rebounding margin (+5.0), while Threatt is the team's leading scorer, averaging 17.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. The Wildcats also boast solid three-point shooting at 37.2 percent on the season.

Caleb Stone-Carrawell scored a game-high 19 points and Nate Tshimanga added a career-high 14 points to lead Utah Valley to a 70-54 win over in-state rival Weber State on Dec. 5, 2023 at the UCCU Center. Stone-Carrawell scored his 19 points on 7 of 15 shooting from the floor, including a 3 of 6 mark from long range. He was also a perfect 2 for 2 at the free throw line. Stone-Carrawell also had four rebounds with two assists on the night. Tshimanaga scored a career-high 14 points, knocking down 6 of 9 shots. He also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds to go along with two steals and one assist. Jaden McClanahan was in double figures with 10 points. He also dished out five assists with three rebounds and a steal. Tanner Toolson had eight points, while K'mani Doughty added seven with four rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a pair of steals.  Osiris Grady scored six points with six rebounds, while Trevin Dorius led UVU with four blocks.

Carter Welling leads the team with 21 blocks, followed by Cory Wells with 12. Welling's 1.91 blocks per game ranks him 38th nationally, and he is also 38th in total blocks.
