OREM, Utah — Utah Valley University women's soccer associate head coach
Kyle Christensen has announced that he has accepted the head coach position at Weber State University.
Â
Christensen spent 10 seasons (2015-24) with the Wolverines, including three as associate head coach (2022-24) and as the team's recruiting coordinator. During his tenure, UVU amassed an impressive overall record ofÂ
112-76-23, including aÂ
64-19-11Â mark in WAC play. Christensen helped the Wolverines capture three straight WAC regular season championships (2022, 2023, 2024), three WAC Tournament titles (2015, 2017, 2022), and four NCAA Tournament appearances (2015, 2017, 2020, 2022), including a first-ever at-large bid in 2022.
"We are so excited for Kyle and his family," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "He and Alyssa have been instrumental in the growth of our program here at UVU. Kyle will bring Weber State to new heights as their head coach. Kyle is a talented coach but more importantly an amazing person. He and I have developed a special friendship that will carry on always with the exception of when we play each other next fall! UVU women's soccer wishes Kyle all the best."
Â
In 2024, Christensen helped UVU to a third consecutive WAC regular season championship with a 6-0-1 record in league play and a 12-5-2 overall mark. Ten Wolverines earned All-WAC honors, including WAC Offensive Player of the Year
Faith Webber and WAC Defensive Player of the Year
Haley Funn. UVU earned a place among the nation's elite, highlighted by multiple All-Region selections and record-breaking team achievements.
Â
Kyle Christensen's wife, Alyssa, was also a key part of the program's success, spending eight seasons on staff in various roles, including five as associate head coach and three as director of operations. She helped the Wolverines to three WAC Tournament titles, three NCAA appearances, and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win in 2021.
Â
As the Christensens embark on their new journey, Utah Valley Athletics thanks them for their exceptional contributions to the Wolverine family and wishes them continued success.
