HARRISONBURG, Virginia—Osiris Grady recorded a season-high 12 points and
Tanner Toolson added 10 as Utah Valley fell to James Madison, 78-61, on Saturday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.

The loss concludes a seven-game, month-long road stretch for the Wolverines, who now return home to face North Dakota on Wednesday at the UCCU Center. UVU falls to 4-5 on the season with the setback, its fourth straight loss. JMU improves to 6-4 with the win.

Grady scored his 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. He added a rebound and an assist in 27 minutes of action. Toolson contributed 10 points, including six at the free-throw line, while adding five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Kylin Green and
Hayden Welling came off the bench to score nine points each.
Trevan Leonhardt finished with six points and four steals, while
Dominick Nelson chipped in five points.

Utah Valley struggled offensively, shooting a season-low 33.3% (19-of-57) from the field and 23.8% (5-of-21) from three-point range. James Madison, meanwhile, shot 50% (27-of-54) overall, including 50% (13-of-26) from beyond the arc. JMU also edged UVU on the boards, 35-32, while both teams scored 24 points in the paint.

The Wolverines return to the UCCU Center on Wednesday for their first home game since a Nov. 9 victory over UTEP, hosting North Dakota at 6 p.m. The game will air live on ESPN+ and the Wolverine Sports Network (960 AM/103.9 FM in Utah County, 98.3 FM/101.5 HD2 in Salt Lake County).
How It Happened
First Half
Utah Valley jumped out to a quick 10-3 lead in the opening three minutes before James Madison answered with a 15-2 run over the next five minutes to take an 18-12 advantage. The Wolverines endured a 9:31 stretch without a field goal, allowing JMU to extend its lead to 34-20 with six minutes remaining in the half. The Dukes closed the period on a 7-3 run to head into the break with a 44-28 advantage, the most points UVU has allowed in a first half this season.

Second Half
UVU opened the second half strong, outscoring JMU 10-4 to cut the deficit to 12 points at 50-38 with 15:22 to play. The Dukes quickly responded with a 9-2 run to push their lead to 59-40. The Wolverines rallied with a 12-4 spurt to trim the margin to 11 points, 63-52, with 6:34 remaining. However, JMU pulled away with a decisive 13-1 run, taking its largest lead of the game at 76-53 with just over two minutes left. UVU closed the game on an 8-2 run to narrow the final margin to 17 points.
