GOODYEAR, Ariz.—
Dane Huddleston carded a 5-under-par 67 in the second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate on Monday at Palm Valley Golf Club and is now tied for fifth with a two-round score of 8-under-par 136 (69-67) on the 116-player leaderboard.
Utah Valley climbed up five spots on the team leaderboard after shooting a 15-under-par 273 on Monday and is now alone in fourth place on the 20-team leaderboard with a two-round score of 16-under-par 560 (287-273).
"We accomplished our goal today which was to get into the final pairing," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Curran. "The guys played near perfect golf. We are back in contention. Ryan, Dane, and Andrew stepped up and gave us some very nice scores."
Huddleston moved up four spots on the individual leaderboard and is now tied for fifth with a two-round 8-under-par 136 (69-67). His 5-under-par 67 in round two included a near flawless round with six birdies and only one bogey. He had four birdies on the back nine.
Ryan Seamons shot a career-low 6-under-par 66 to move up an impressive 32 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 10th with a two-round 6-under-par 138 (72-66). He had six birdies on Monday and only one bogey.
Kai Iguchi carded an even par 72 and is tied for 34th with a two-round 2-under-par 142 (70-72). Iguchi had two back-nine birdies with one double bogey in round two.
Isaiah Ellis, who is playing as an individual, shot a 3-over-par 75 and fell 37 spots on the leaderboard and into a tie for 42nd with a two-round score of 1-under-par 143 (68-75).
Andrew Hawk recorded a career-low 4-under-par 68 in round two and moved up 30 places on the leaderboard and into a tie for 61st with a two-round score of 1-over-par 145 (77-68). Hawk eagled the 540-yard par 5 11th hole and registered three birdies with just one bogey in his round on Monday.
Braden O'Grady rounded out the scoring on Monday with a 5-over-par 77. O'Grady is now tied for 105th with a two-round 9-over-par 153 (76-77).
Utah Valley will wrap up play at the Loyola Intercollegiate with a final 18-hole round on Tuesday at Palm Valley Golf Club. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
