UTAH VALLEY HOSTS TARLETON STATE ON THURSDAY NIGHT AT UCCU CENTER
- Utah Valley continues play at home this week as the Wolverines host WAC foe Tarleton State on Thursday night at the UCCU Center. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.

- Caleb Stone-Carrawell scored 15 points and Tanner Toolson added 14 to lead Utah Valley in an 86-67 setback to WAC leader Grand Canyon on Feb. 3 at the UCCU Center. Trevin Dorius was just one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. He also recorded a career-high five blocks.

- Utah Valley Will play five of its next seven games in the comfy confines of the UCCU Center where the team holds a 7-2 record this season. Utah Valley has suffered just three losses over the last two seasons at the UCCU Center. The Wolverines have won 23 of their last 26 games at home.

- Utah Valley has used seven different starting lineups this season. The Wolverines have used a starting lineup that includes two freshmen with Tanner Toolson and Osiris Grady five times this season.

- Trevin Dorius recorded a career-high five blocks in Saturday's loss to WAC leader Grand Canyon. Dorius ranks sixth in the WAC in blocks at 1.50 swats per game.

- Drake Allen dished out a career-high 11 assists in Thursday night's game at Stephen F. Austin. The 11 assists tie him for the fifth most ever recorded in a single game in UVU history. Allen and Jaden McClanahan (10 assists vs. Carroll College) are two of just three players in the WAC this season to dish out 10 or more assists in a single game.

- As a team, Utah Valley leads the WAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.15. Drake Allen ranks second in the WAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.93. UVU also ranks second in assists per game at 14.41. Trevin Dorius ranks sixth in the WAC in rebounding at 7.23 boards a game. Dorius also ranks fourth in offensive boards per game at 2.77.

- Utah Valley is only one of six teams in the nation that returned players with a total of zero starts from the 2022-23 season. UVU has 11 new players this season, including seven transfers. The only returning players that saw time last season are Jaden McClanahan and Ethan Potter and neither started a game last season.

Thursday night's game against Tarleton State will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Brandon Crow and Josh Kallunki will be on the call for the ESPN+ broadcast. The game will also be broadcast over the air waves in Utah County with Jim McCulloch and Brice Larson on the call. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960 AM radio with a live stream available at ESPN960sports.com. Larson will host the pregame/halftime/postgame show for the game on ESPN 960 AM.Â

Tarleton State enters Thursday night's game with a 15-7 overall record. The Texans are in second place in the WAC standings with an 8-3 conference record. Tarleton State holds a 5-5 record on the road this season. The Texans have won three straight, including a 75-54 win at home over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday. Senior guard Lue Williams led the team with a game-high 27 points to go along with five steals and four rebounds in Saturday's win over SFA. Sophomore guard Devon Barnes recorded a 20-point performance, while senior forward Jakorie Smith was also in double figures with 17 points. Smith leads the team in scoring this season at 15.2 points a game, followed by Williams at 13.7 points a contest. Senior forward KiAndre Gaddy and Barnes also average double figures at 11.9 and 11.1 points per game, respectively. Gaddy leads the team on the boards, pulling down 7.2 rebounds per game. As a team, Tarleton State averages 71.55 points a game while limiting opponents to a 66.86 points per game average.Â
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE TEXANS
Utah Valley and Tarleton will meet for the seventh time on the basketball hardwood. UVU holds an all-time 4-2 advantage over the Texans, including a 2-1 advantage in Orem. However, the two teams haven't met in Orem since Jan. 1, 2022. Utah Valley won the last meeting between the two schools, taking a 72-58 win over the Texans in the quarterfinals of the WAC Tournament in Las Vegas on March 9, 2023. Utah Valley has won three of the last four meetings against the Texans.Â

SECOND-BEST STEALS PER GAME MARK IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Utah Valley currently holds the second-best steals per game average in program history at 7.2 steals a contest. The school record for steals per game average is 8.5 set during the 2003-04 season. The record for steals in a season is 239 set last season during the team's run to the semifinals of the NIT over a 37-game season. UVU has 158 steals through 20 games this season. Trevan Leonhardt leads the team with 30 steals this season.
ALLEN AND MCCLANAHAN ARE TWO OF ONLY THREE WAC PLAYERS TO RECORD A 10-PLUS ASSIST GAME
Drake Allen dished out a career-high 11 assists in UVU road loss at Stephen F. Austin on Feb. 1. Jaden McClanahan dished out a career-high 10 assists in Utah Valley's 81-73 win over Carroll College on in the team's season opener on Nov. 6. Allen and McClanahan's 10-plus assist performances are two of only three such 10-plus assist single game performances in the WAC this season. Alex Schumacher is the only other player to record 10 or more assists as he recorded 11 assists in Seattle U's 92-55 win over Idaho on Nov. 22.Â
