Utah Valley opens WAC play this weekend, hosting the Tarleton State Texans for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday at Wolverine Softball Field.
Friday is scheduled to be a doubleheader, with first pitch slated for 2 p.m. MT. Game two will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Saturday's series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. MT. All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live stats available at UVUStats.com.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley dropped its final tuneup game before WAC play on Wednesday, falling 5-2 to the Weber State Wildcats. Avery Sapp pitched a complete game, striking out 5 and allowing 4 earned runs.
The Wolverines let a pair of leads slip away during their midweek games, as BYU came back to defeat them 9-7 on Monday. UVU took a 2-1 lead in the third on Wednesday, but Weber State was able to rattle off four unanswered runs to take the win.
Peyton Hall extended her hitting streak to 8 games on Wednesday with her RBI single. During that streak, Hall has gone 8-for-19 (.421) with a home run and 6 RBIs.
Megan Gibbs has also broken out of an early-season slump and has helped lead the Wolverine offense of late. In her last five games, Gibbs has gone 5-for-8 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs, 4 walks, and 5 runs scored. Gibbs now sits at 24 career home runs, and is one away from breaking into the top five on the UVU leaderboards. Next up for Gibbs to pass is Heidi Stocks (2006-08), who hit 25 home runs in her Wolverine career.
SERIES HISTORY vs TARLETON
Utah Valley welcomes the Texans to Orem for just the second-ever series between the two teams. The Wolverines swept the only other series between the two schools back in 2021. UVU has never made the trek to Stephenville.

Utah Valley will host Mountain West foe Boise State on Tuesday, March 19 for the third and final game between the two schools this season. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
