ARLINGTON, Texas — For the third time in her career, Utah Valley University's
Kelsi Oldroyd has been named the WAC TicketSmarter Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week. It's the first time that she has received the honor this season.
Oldroyd competed at the Beach Invitational at Long Beach State last week and finished third in the javelin with her best throw coming in at 52.13 meters. Already the school record holder in both the javelin (56.66m) and long jump (5.99m), Oldroyd's javelin mark at the Beach Invite leads the WAC, ranks 14th in the West, and is 20th in the country. She is the reigning WAC Outdoor Champion in the javelin and qualified for the NCAA West First Rounds in both the javelin and long jump in 2023.
Oldroyd and a group of throwers will head to the Mt. Sac Relays this week while the full Utah Valley squad is slated to compete at Southern Utah on Saturday.
