Huddleston finishes in a tie for seventh at WAC Golf Championship

PAYSON, Ariz.—Dane Huddleston led the Utah Valley men's golf team at the 2024 WAC Men's Golf Championship, shooting a final-round 1-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish in a tie for seventh with a three-round score of 2-over-par 218 (71-74-73) at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines.
 
As a team, Utah Valley carded a 12-over-par 300 in the final round to finish eighth on the 11-team leaderboard with a three-round 31-over-par 895 (293-302-300). The Wolverines finished ahead of Seattle U (+37), Stephen F. Austin (+48), and Southern Utah (+66). 

"I'm proud of Dane," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. "He played great. It was a nice way for him to finish off his freshman year. As a team it was a rough way to finish the season. We played nowhere near close to our potential."

Grand Canyon won the WAC Championship team title with a three-round 12-over-par 876 (292-295-289). 
 
Huddleston finished in a tie for seventh on the 54-player leaderboard with a three-round score of 2-over-par 218 (71-74-73). Huddleston shot a 1-over-par 73 in Sunday's final round as he recorded a pair of birdies with 13 pars on the day. 
 
Ethan Efford shot a 5-over-par in the final round on Sunday to finish in a tie for 23rd with a three-round 9-over-par 225 (71-77-77). Efford had two birdies and 10 pars in his final round.
 
Ryan Seamons carded a 2-over-par 74 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 27th at 10-over-par 226 (76-76-74). Seamons had an impressive four birdies in his final round to go along with 10 pars.  
 
Kai Iguchi shot a final-round 4-over-par 76 to finish tied for 37th at 14-over-par 230 (79-75-76). Iguchi had a pair of back-nine birdies on Sunday.
 
Braden O'Grady subbed in for the final round of the tournament on Sunday, carding a 6-over-par 78. O'Grady recorded a front-nine birdie with 12 pars on the day.
 
Seattle U's Kevin Li won the individual WAC title with a three-round score of 6-under-par 210 (69-72-69). 
 
The tournament wraps up the 2023-24 season for the Wolverines.
