EUGENE, Oregon — Utah Valley University track & field star
Kelsi Oldroyd will make program history on Friday when she competes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials in the javelin at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. She's the first Wolverine student-athlete to compete at the trials during their collegiate career at UVU.
The javelin prelims are slated for a 4 p.m. PT/5 p.m. MT start on Friday with the top 12 advancing to Sunday's final. The trials are airing on Peacock, and fans can watch Oldroyd compete on Friday by clicking

"I am so incredibly excited for this experience. This is something that has just constantly been on my mind since I qualified," said Oldroyd. "Telling family and seeing their reactions and making them proud is my favorite part. I'm excited to soak it all up and have a good time."
The back-to-back WAC Champion in the javelin, Oldroyd is also a two-time NCAA West preliminary rounds qualifier. She's also had remarkable success in the classroom, as a two-time Academic All-District, and USTFCCCA All-Academic selection.
"I've really got a great setup and support system here at UVU. I see how much my coaches believe in me and I appreciate how much they've worked with me," said Oldroyd, who is coached in javelin by UVU throws coach and two-time U.S. Olympian Jill Camarena-Williams. "Training is not always pretty and it can be frustrating at times. With the amount of pressure you can put on yourself, having coaches who believe in me, support me, and continually build me up helps a lot."
Sunday's finals are scheduled for 4:10 p.m. PT/5:10 p.m. MT on the final days of the trials, and can be watched live by clicking
