Utah Valley hosts Weber State on Thursday, travels to San Diego State on Sunday

UTAH VALLEY HOSTS WEBER STATE, TRAVELS TO SAN DIEGO STATE
Utah Valley will host in-state rival Weber State on Thursday night at Clyde Field, following the men's game against UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. The game against WSU is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. MT. The Wolverines will then travel to the Golden State to face San Diego State on Sunday, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. MT.

Last week, UVU dropped a 3-0 decision on the road at UC Davis, despite outshooting the Aggies 14-11 and controlling 56% of possession. The Wolverines bounced back with a commanding 3-0 victory over Gonzaga in Spokane, with Faith Webber recording a brace and CJ Graham securing her first shutout of the season with seven saves. The Wolverines ended the week with a 1-1 record and improved to 4-4-1 overall.

Faith Webber now leads the team with seven goals, one assist, and 15 points. Ruby Hladek has contributed three goals and three assists for nine points. Sadie Beardall, Quincy Bonds, and Mia Owens each have one goal. Hladek leads the team in assists with three. CJ Graham leads the team in goal with 32 saves and holds a 2-3-1 record with one shutout. Leah Wolf has made 16 saves with a 2-1-0 record and one clean sheet.

HISPANIC HERITAGE NIGHT
Utah Valley will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night on Thursday night at Clyde Field. There will be a student tailgate prior to the match. The Latino Success Center will be celebrating the night with a parade of flags at halftime of the match. There will be free tacos for the first 100 students at the tailgate.

Utah Valley's matches this week will both be streamed online. UVU's game against Weber State at home will be broadcast live on ESPN+, while Sunday's game at San Diego State will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network. 

ABOUT WEBER STATE
Weber State enters the week with a 1-6-3 record after falling 4-2 to No. 9 Utah State on September 15 at Wildcat Soccer Field. Despite the loss, Ali Swensen scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season, while Lily Blum also found the back of the net for the Wildcats. Swensen leads Weber State with 12 points on five goals and two assists, while Blum, Sayler Schlosser, and Amanda Caswell each have two goals on the year. In goal, Hadley Harris has recorded 28 saves and holds a 2.31 goals-against average. Maya Cordova has also contributed between the posts with 13 saves and a 3.00 goals-against average. The Wildcats have scored nine goals this season while allowing 25.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE WILDCATS
Utah Valley and Weber State will meet on the pitch for the ninth time on Thursday night. Weber State holds an all-time 6-2-0 advantage in the series. The Wolverines had dropped six-straight matches to the Wildcats before picking up a 3-0 win in Ogden in the last matchup in 2021. UVU is 0-4-0 all-time against WSU in games played in Orem. 

ABOUT SAN DIEGO STATE
San Diego State holds a 2-4-1 record this season, bouncing back from a four-match losing streak with a 4-2 win over Eastern Washington on September 15. Denise Castro led the Aztecs with two goals and an assist in the match, giving her a team-high seven points on the season. Emma Gaines-Ramos also has three goals, while four other Aztecs have scored once this season. In goal, Alexa Madueno has made 27 saves with a 1.86 goals-against average. San Diego State has scored 11 goals while conceding 13 through seven matches this season.

SERIES HISTORY VS. THE AZTECS
Utah Valley and San Diego State will meet for just the second time on Sunday afternoon. The Aztecs won the only previous matchup, taking a 6-0 win over UVU on Aug. 21, 2015 in San Diego.

ROAD WARRIORS
Utah Valley has truly been road warriors this season, with seven of the team's nine games taking place away from home. The Wolverines have traveled an impressive total of 6,768 miles, including flights to Ann Arbor, Detroit, Orlando, Charlottesville, Davis, California, and Spokane, along with a roundtrip bus journey from Orem to Salt Lake City. Despite the demanding travel schedule, UVU has managed to come away with a strong 4-2-1 record in road matches, showcasing the team's resilience and ability to perform under challenging conditions.

UTAH VALLEY RANKED NO. 8 IN UNITED SOCCER COACHES PACIFIC REGION TOP-10 POLL, DROPS OUT OF RECEIVING VOTES IN TOP-25 POLL
For the first time in five weeks, Utah Valley is not receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 poll.  The Wolverines did stay at No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region Top-10 poll. 

FAITH WEBBER NEEDS JUST FOUR MORE GOALS TO BREAK UTAH VALLEY'S CAREER GOALS MARK
Faith Webber (37) needs just four goals to break the all-time Utah Valley career goals mark of 40 set by current Washington Spirit player and former Wolverine Heather Stainbrook. With her two goals at Gonzaga on Sunday, Webber now has 37 career goals. Webber has scored her 37 goals in just her third season at UVU (2022-24). Stainbrook's career record of 40 came in five seasons of play (2019-23). Webber is also just 20 points away from breaking Stainbrook's UVU career points record of 105. Webber has 86 career points at UVU.
