PROVO, Utah — Utah Valley University's Aiden Garnett set a new school record while winning the men's high jump on day two of the BYU Cougar Invitational at Smith Fieldhouse on Friday.

Garnett set the mark on his third jump of the day, eclipsing 2.15 meters to surpass his prior personal record, and now stands alone atop the record book. An outdoor NCAA qualifier in the high jump, his previous PR of 2.14 meters had shared the program record with Seth Krauss.

Also on Friday, a pair of freshmen entered the top 10 in the long and triple jumps. Benati Louvouezo's triple jump mark of 14.13 meters puts him at No. 5 while Gavin Stafford's 6.84-meter long jump puts him at ninth. Stafford finished fourth while Louvouezo was sixth in the long jump.

The men's heptathlon also wrapped up with Cole Johnson finishing second and Matt Biggins in third. Kelsi Oldroyd finished fourth in the women's long jump, with her best mark of the day hitting 5.56 meters. Aubrey Tasker was the UVU's top finisher in the women's long jump, tying for fourth after hitting 1.64 meters.

The meet concludes on Saturday starting with the Wolverines beginning action at 10:30 a.m. in the women's 60-meter hurdles. UVU has seven attached runners competing in the prelims. Women's pole vault begins at 11 a.m. with the men to follow at 1 p.m. The day concludes with the 4x400 relays.
