ARLINGTON, Texas — A trio of Utah Valley University student-athletes were honored for their record-breaking performances last week as WAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Ella Hopper, Aiden Garnett, and Alyssa Logan all set program records and had season-best performances for WAC athletes in the process.

Garnett won the men's high jump at the BYU Cougar Invitational with a school-record height of 2.15 meters, breaking the record of 2.14 meters he'd previously shared with Seth Krauss, to earn the men's Field Athlete of the Week. Garnett's jump is also good enough for the No. 1 spots this season in the Mountain Region and the WAC, and is tied for fifth in the country.

Hopper is the women's Track Athlete of the Week after she set the program's new indoor women's 400-meter time, winning the race at BYU in a time of 55.01 seconds. Her time of 55.12 seconds (altitude-adjusted) officially leads the WAC, is second in the Mountain Region, and is 22nd in the country this season.

Logan, the women's Field Athlete of the Week, broke her own school record last week while winning the weight throw at the BYU Cougar Invitational. Her best throw of 18.58 meters also ranks No. 2 in the Mountain Region and No. 47 in the nation.
