POCATELLO, Idaho — With only a few participants competing, Utah Valley University track & field still had several personal records and Top 10 marks this week at the Snake River Open at Idaho State.
Noah Peterson matched his PR in the pole vault at 5.10 meters, which ranks second all-time at UVU. Peterson tied for the second-best mark in the event and finished in third place.
Porter Westerlind hit 4.95 meters, matching his PR and the No. 5 mark in the top 10.
Grace Degarimore had another top 10 on Friday, with her throw of 13.63 meters in the shot put taking over the No. 3 spot in Utah Valley's indoor top 10. Degarimore was also third in the weight throw in Friday's event.
Karsten Deakin improved on her No. 9 mark in the top 10 with her PR of 13.16 meters in the shot put.
Andrew Turner and
Luis Diaz Bojorquez also had top 10 personal records in the weight throw. Turner (16.50m) now sits at No. 6 while Diaz Bojorquez (15.82) edged his prior PR, which is 10th all-time.
Also, at the BYU Cougar Invitational last week,
Emily Conlin's Top 10 performance in the pole vault was inadvertently omitted. Conlin's mark of 3.40 meters put her at 10th in the UVU record book.
Up next for UVU will be the Utah State Speed & Power Meet, slated for Feb. 1 in Logan.
