STREAKING: EIGHT STRAIGHT WINS, PERFECT WAC START, EYEING HISTORY
Utah Valley is riding a nine-game win streak, including a perfect 6-0 start in WAC play with victories over Abilene Christian, Grand Canyon, two wins over California Baptist, UT Arlington, and Utah Tech. The Wolverines remain unbeaten at home this season with an 8-0 record at the UCCU Center. UVU's current streak is tied for the sixth-longest win streak in the country.
The best start in program history came during the 2013-14 season when UVU opened WAC play 7-0. That season, the Wolverines finished 20-12 overall and 13-3 in WAC play to claim the WAC regular-season title in their first year in the league. UVU is now just two wins shy of matching its longest win streak of 11 games, set during the 2022-23 season. While UVU previously won 14 straight during the 2003-04 season, that streak came during the program's transition to Division I and primarily included non-Division I opponents.
BLOCK PARTY IN OREM
Utah Valley continues to dominate the paint, now ranking 3rd in the nation in blocks per game, averaging an impressive 6.2 swats per contest (as of Jan. 24). Eleven different Wolverines have recorded at least one block this season, showcasing the team's collective defensive prowess. Carter Welling leads the way with 34 total blocks, ranking 33rd nationally in blocks per game (1.89). Hayden Welling follows with 17 blocks, while Cory Wells has added 16. UVU's defensive dominance in the paint has been a key factor in its strong start to WAC play and nine-game win streak.
