PROVO, Utah — Alyssa Logan and Grace Degarimore finished first and second in the women's weight throw as Utah Valley University opened action at the BYU Cougar Invitational on Thursday.

The duo also set the top two marks in the program's record books, with Logan's throw of 18.58 meters breaking her own school record. Degarimore's throw of 17.63 meters also would have been a school record for the freshman had it not been for Logan's effort.
