OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's volleyball hits the road for two matches WAC matches this week, with the trip starting at California Baptist on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 7:00 p.m. MT before wrapping up the road trip with Southern Utah on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 12:30 p.m. MT.

Both matches this week will air on ESPN+, with Travis Van Noty on the call in Riverside on Thursday and Spencer McLaughin calling Saturday's action at SUU. UVUstats.com will have live stats for both matches.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines are coming off their third sweep of WAC play with a quick match against UT Arlington last Thursday at the Smith Fieldhouse in Provo.
Sami Blackett recorded a double-double with 12 kills on 27 swings with only committing two hitting errors while adding 15 digs in the sweep.
Olivia Gloeckner reached double digits with ten kills and finished with a .474 hitting percentage.
Evalyn Chism had 22 assists to go along with seven digs in the match. UVU finished with 15 total blocks in the game and limited the Mavericks to a .135 hitting percentage.
SCOUTING THE LANCERS
The Lancers enter the contest 6-11 and 2-3 in the WAC. They have been battling injuries this season, led by Emery DeJong at outside hitter, who has tallied 213 kills in all 17 matches. Setter Maddie Brown was named WAC Setter of the Week earlier this season and is averaging close to five assists per set. The CBU defensive effort is led by libero Gianna Perez who leads them in digs with 171.
ABOUT THE THUNDERBIRDS
Southern Utah is 2-14 and 1-4 early in WAC play; their two wins this season have come over UC San Diego and California Baptist. Victoria Zibecchi leads them in points (169) and kills (147) this season. Led by Kaitlyn Aleshire (58) and Amaya Tobias (55), they have gotten the Thunderbirds to fifth in the WAC in blocks per set.
UTAH VALLEY SWEEPS WAC WEEKLY AWARDS
The Wolverines swept this week's WAC volleyball awards, led by Blackett's first Player of the Week award after her performance on Thursday against UTA. Joined in conference honors by Chism and Matavao, the trio took home all three of the weekly awards for the second time since 2024.

Utah Valley will return home for its next three matches, starting with current WAC leader, Utah Tech, on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1:00 p.m. MT inside Lockhart Arena. UVU will also host Southern Utah and California Baptist to close out the home schedule on Oct. 30 and Nov. 1.
